▶ And, yes, they (and I) knew that the sun sets in the west! But high clouds caught and reflected the setting sun's light back to the east.

How to avoid vignetting
I use a cheap ebay filter holder (equiv. the 3x slot Cokin P serie).
The trick to avoid vignetting is to peel off the edges with a scalpel for example.
Peel and cut until you don't see any of the edges of the filter holder in the viewfinder.
Thats the reason you don't need the Z-series =)

A couple of hours left to work that night, and a completely forgotten picture.
I wanted to get up early this morning to catch the sunrise but overslept. Instead, this is an archive of one of my other pre-sunrise shots at Palos Verdes. My heart and prayers go out to all those affected by the tragic events in Japan.
On the Western coast of Australia, after enjoying a few tasty wines, we headed down to the beach to enjoy the sunset. I have a few similar photos all trying different setting but I think I like this one the best!
Lafayette, Colorado
The violent, chaotic wildfires that created such vividly orange skies contrasts with the calm waters of Coal Creek, hundreds of miles away.
