The sun has set, and the winds were dying down ... evening was taking over the lake there in Ricketts Glen.
Mac Mac Pools is truly one of a kind. Situated just 3 km from the stunning Mac-Mac Falls, this charming site gets its name from clusters of shallow pools; these natural pools are made when the gently twirling waters of the rocky river paves its way through the rough terrain to swoop down into small water pockets.
And it did turn into a whiteout. Skagsanden beach in the morning with mountains reflecting in wet sand. One of my favourite beaches in Lofoten.

This striking birch tree, still hanging on to its colourful leaves, was reflected nicely in the calm waters or the River Cannich.
Another one from the archive. You might call it a silhouette. I used a ND filter here as I was shooting into the sun.
Im not that happy with the outcome.
This windmill is a favorite for photographers in this area. It is behind the historic Higginson / Holbrook house in the partially restored ghost town of Chesterfield, Idaho.
