Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, United Kingdom. The light was going fast at this point, but a narrow band of more open sky illuminated the hills of the Lake District in the distance, framed by the heavy cloud bank and its reflection on the foreground water of the bay. Detail had begun to leach out of the sandbanks and the background as the light faded.

5am in Gwythian, Cornwall. It's so hard to get up at this hour, but once I get through the initial difficulty of waking up I feel so happy and at peace walking around at sunrise. It feels natural and right to be up then and I think if I actually went to bed at sunset that would be what nature intended! However, I live in London and that's just never going to happen! So it ends up feeling like a funny mix of suffering and joy! It is similar to running for me in that way: A bit painful at first but I end up feeling so alive and connected to the Earth.

The last weeks I have been feeling more and more blocked. I had no idea for photos and even if I tried shooting something well it just didn't seem interesting at all. This one came a little spontaneously when we went over a lake. My younger one loves water. It was difficult to get him out of it.

A morning limestone train for Minorca (U-719) rolls across the Cloquet River north of Duluth with 48 cars. I like these short limestone trains to Minorca and UTAC as they are usually powered by two units that fit nicely on the bridge. About 20 minutes before this guy arrived there was thick ground fog that burned off just a few minutes before arrival.

San Felipe, Baja - Mexico on the Sea of Cortez.

The sun has set, and the winds were dying down ... evening was taking over the lake there in Ricketts Glen.

The new, but somewhat temporary lights on the Bay Bridge are almost mesmerizing to watch. The display is only up for the next two years. Although the computer generated patterns repeat over the course of a few minutes, each visit brings different conditions for which to view them. The fog layer was very low here creating a canopy of light to set off another lovely Bay Area evening.

Thanks for taking the time for a look!

Mac Mac Pools is truly one of a kind. Situated just 3 km from the stunning Mac-Mac Falls, this charming site gets its name from clusters of shallow pools; these natural pools are made when the gently twirling waters of the rocky river paves its way through the rough terrain to swoop down into small water pockets.

And it did turn into a whiteout. Skagsanden beach in the morning with mountains reflecting in wet sand. One of my favourite beaches in Lofoten.

Passion flower (Passiflora incarnata) is a climbing vine with white and purple flowers. The chemicals in passion flower have calming effects.
