Happy New Year, my dear Flickr friends!

Calla Lily season will be ending soon

For shooting once in a year blooming

I go to Bamboo Lake Grass Mountain Taipe

All of my male box was missing and disappear in just one night

made me can't feedback Why? Give it back! Stop spying on me.

A very unusual flower of my otherwise very smooth and rounded Callas. It's also my first attempt of focus stacking. Didn't quite catch all areas that needed to be sharp.

This picture was taken more than two years, not long before I started landscape photography. Even my photography skills were not good at that time, this is one of my favs.

Since then, it has been posted on social medias many times without giving any credits to me.

Some people mailed me saying that it took them long time to find me because they would like to purchase the print.

I decided to repost this here, hopefully people can find me.

For prints: please flickr mail or email me: lelema66@yahoo.com

A beautiful white Calla Lily, captured in Berkeley, California. I came across her walking up in the hills a wonderful morning late in January.

Calla lilies are said to come from the ancient god Hera, the wife of Zeus. In the story, Zeus brought Hercules to nurse from his wife while she was sleeping. He wanted his son to have the strength of the gods. Hera awoke and pushed the baby away from her. Drops of milk flew across the sky creating the milky way and everywhere they landed on earth, calla lilies bloomed. The Marin Headlands is a hilly peninsula at the southernmost end of Marin County, California, United States, located just north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the two counties and peninsulas. The Marin Headlands were home to the Native American Coastal Miwok tribe, who moved between the bay side of the peninsula and the ocean side seasonally, for thousands of years. The entire area is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Headlands are famous for their views of the Bay Area, especially of the Golden Gate Bridge. In the waters surrounding the Headlands, harbor seals can be found year-round, gray whales can be seen in the spring and fall, and seabirds such as common murres and surf scoters swim within sight of shore.

Happy Floral Friday

As the sun was rising behind my house, I took advantage of the morning dew on the Calla Lillies Just out side my house. This one turned out great.

Still trying for that "perfect" B&W flower shot, whatever that might be.

Calla lilies are not true lilies, but tender perennials from South Africa.
