This is a yellow pudding cake filled with chocolate buttercream and iced with a french vanilla buttercream. It's adorned with gumpaste callas and fondant leaves. The beargrass is artificial.
Loads of Calla Lilies growing in a little alley. Delightful to see and they have been protected from the rain. Most of the others I've seen are on they way out.

It is always the same, once you have an idea for the studio, you get in there, see something else, and something else again, wonderful how inspirational it can be.
Some time ago we did the wedding of Michelle and Ben.
The theme was CALLA LILIES, the bouquets on the tables, her wedding flowers, the cake, all beautiful cool Callas...
We were given a vase to take home and photograph them under studio-conditions.
Sometimes I just 'feeeeeeeeel' like this, a flower image in b&w...
I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasized without the colour. Don't you agree?

Plain and simple, a Calla Lily was a refreshing sight as I wondered the grounds of the Belmond Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge (formerly the Orient-Express Sanctuary Lodge).
With this Calla I received good wishes for my recovery! So I want to share it with all of you and thank each and all of you also for all good wishes and thoughts! I feel blessed with such good friends here in Flickr and beyond! This will help me on my long way of recovery, I am sure!

This is a really (really, really) edited photo of a red and yellow calla lily that I took in my kitchen one day. I was looking everywhere for the "perfect" image of a white calla lily for a project I was working on.
I found that:
a) White calla lilies are beautiful - one of my favorite flowers, beside white roses - but they don't show much detail in photos; and
b) What I really wanted was a calla *drawing* and I could not find one that really suited my purposes.
So, I made my own - I was quite happy with myself over the result!
