We've had some amazing Calla Lilies growing in the south west corner this year! This is the last shot in the series taken a few weeks back.

The strong structural qualities of calla lilies invite fooling around in processing. Happy Sliders Sunday!

They grow wild along the northern California coast.

silenzio e mistero,

Calla lilies are said to come from the ancient god Hera, the wife of Zeus. In the story, Zeus brought Hercules to nurse from his wife while she was sleeping. He wanted his son to have the strength of the gods. Hera awoke and pushed the baby away from her. Drops of milk flew across the sky creating the milky way and everywhere they landed on earth, calla lilies bloomed.

Looking up again at some of my calla lilies. This photo is saying "Good Morning" to Caroline on the other side of the world.

I see droplets on my callas often in the morning but none today because of some wind. It took many tries with a spray bottle to catch a drop that worked.

I shot these to resemble flames, does it work ?

Every year at this time I gather a few wild Calla Lilies from the coast and spend hours having creative time.

Loads of Calla Lilies growing in a little alley. Delightful to see and they have been protected from the rain. Most of the others I've seen are on they way out.

Thank you for your favourites. :O)

This is the Calla Lily we have growing in our garden.
