Believe it or not, this is one of four outlets of the Calgary Climbing Centre here, and it's a building I hadn't looked at closely until today. I've never been physically or mentally built to do this kind of exploring in the mountains, but I admire the heck out of anybody who can get more than two metres off the ground on one of these artificial walls, or any of the stunning rock walls that decorate our beloved Rockies.
Happy Fenced Friday! This is near our fabulous Calgary Zoo - from the pathway west towards Tom Campbell Hill Natural Area, with its glorious views.

Calgary's newest foot bridge is open at last it was delayed by 1 year due to the floods. I can see this becoming a very busy bridge when the rest of the new park is opened.
Another shot from me and Beefy's amazing magic hour nature walk a few weeks ago, here you can some lovely downtown Calgary highrises, majestic early spring trees, and the gorgeously calm waters of the Bow River reflecting everything so beautifully!
It was a very magical night indeed for a walk and a photo session!

Calgary's Eighth Avenue Place tower is just about finished construction.
The 51 storey Eighth Avenue Place started construction without having signed any tenants. The developer built during a downturn in order to have cheaper construction costs. Many thought the builders were crazy, but they have 80% of the building leased, so the gamble seems to have worked.
Had my tripod with me this time, but forgot my remote shutter release :-( Overall picture was okay, but not as crisp as I'd like it. Good excuse to go out again :-)
On a quest to find the city's most breathtaking views, we stumbled upon this incredible spot offering a stunning panoramic of Calgary.
The Scotiabank Saddledome is the primary indoor arena of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Located on the Stampede Grounds, on the east end of downtown Calgary, the Saddledome was built in 1983 to replace the Stampede Corral as the home of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, and to host ice hockey and figure skating at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Today the arena is also home to the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League and the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League.
