Always reminds me of the clear bricks you get in lego sets.

Calgary, a cosmopolitan Alberta city with numerous skyscrapers, owes its rapid growth to its status as the centre of Canada’s oil industry. However, it’s still steeped in the western culture that earned it the nickname “Cowtown,” evident in the Calgary Stampede, its massive July rodeo and festival that grew out of the farming exhibitions once presented here. ― Google

The Calgary Central Library, also known as the Calgary New Central Library (NCL), is the flagship branch of the Calgary Public Library system. It opened on November 1, 2018, replacing an earlier central branch built in the 1960s in Downtown Calgary.

The four-storey building cost CA$245 million to construct and was designed by American-Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and Canadian firm DIALOG after the two firms' joint bid won a design competition in 2013. Their design features an oval-like form and an interior with a large central atrium with a skylight. The building is elevated one floor above street level to accommodate a Calgary light rail trackway below, as well as a public plaza.

The entrance is framed by wood-clad arches inspired by the shape of arched clouds made by Chinook winds in Alberta. The upper floors feature book stacks with space for 450,000 titles. Landscaping around the library and adjoining plaza consists of terracing inspired by the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. (Wikipedia)

Often on my walks around town I take my bucket and litter picker along and clean up what I can , on the whole the city is very clean and on this day I did around 10 to 12 bucket fulls. every bit helps that is for sure.
