I don't want to imagine what happens if one cable breaks...

Marine Way Bridge is cable-stayed in Southport, England.

The bridge was designed by Babtie to replace a cast iron bridge that closed in 1990. With a main span of 80 metres (262 ft) and a total length of 150 metres (492 ft)

I put this in the group, then took it out when I thought maybe only round baubles were the theme, then saw other non-round ornaments being accepted, so I've put it back in. Well, it is the purpose of cable cars to go back and forth, after all!

Looking close...on Friday: Christmas baubles. This souvenir of San Francisco is about 3 inches/7.5 cm across.

Happy holidays, Flickr friends!

I was staying at a hotel in Winnipeg near this bridge where I took this image. It was the dead of winter so what else was there to do?

Seeing the City of Madrid from High up, you can get a Cable car that takes you up and out over the city to the Caasa de Campo Park. The park covers hilltops to the West of the city centre and was originally a Royal hunting park.

Two of the four twisted pairs of wires at the stripped end of some network cable.

Somewhere between 3.5:1 and 4:1 reproduction ratio. The cable jacket is ~5mm top to bottom.

An old marker sign on Adur River Bank. There's one on either side. I wonder if there is still any kind of cable passing beneath now

14 minutes in the cable car

A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "cable". Doesn't everyone have a box of cables we keep "just in case"? This cable with transparent insulation was particularly photogenic.
