The easy way up the Great Wall, and the only one we had time for.

These huge pulleys drive the cables that move the "elevator" that takes the miners down the mine shaft. The whole mine was abandonded in the 40s and still is fairly intact.

There's a story behind these. A long time ago, I ordered micro usb cables from an ad on Amazon. I got the ones I wanted no problem. But after they broke, I ordered through the exact same ad. They sent the wrong ones (these ones charge sooooo slowly. If you use your phone while charging you'll actually lose battery power). So I asked for my money back. They offered to send me new ones instead (the guy said they didn't have the colour or size I asked for, but they would be the faster charging ones). So I agreed. A few months later, guess what showed up in the mail?

I asked for my money back again and again they wanted to send me more cables. I'm expecting them any day now...

OSP fiber cable is outside plant fiber cable, commonly used for outdoor applications. OPS fiber optical cables are divided into two types: central tube and layer stranded cable.

The structure of central tube fiber cable is a loose tube in the center, and the reinforcing member is located around the loose tube. For example, the common GYXTW type optical cable has a small number of fiber cores, usually less than 12 cores, now can be 24 cores.

Small center tube cable is used abroad a lot. The cable structure is that glass fiber yarn or aramid Kevlar yarn is added to the central PBT loose tube and then sheathed with LSZH or PE. The cable is relatively soft and has a certain pulling strength, which common apply for indoors and outdoors. Overhead and pipeline are relatively convenient.

Stranded fiber optic cable is designed with 5 or 6 of loose tubes stranded around strength member. There are many type of stranded fiber cables, such as GYTS, GYTA, GYFTY, GYTA53, and GYTY53, etc..By combining the loose tubes, the fiber cores of stranded fiber cable can be 24-144cores.
