I love playing with fire - but it´s tricky and not at all easy capturing those vivid flames...
Shot about 200 photos in the blacksmiths shop and now I am having a hard time finding flames that I feel are right for this assignment...
cwd473: Fire - We did smoke a while back...let's try fire! Please don't burn anything down!
for "take a class w/dave" ... "the sun" assignment. the clouds were obscuring the sunset a bit but it was still pretty.
While at the beach, I found this gorgeous rock, and new I wanted to "gloss" it. Took a while, but finally got the look I wanted.
cwd593: Out of Context Take a photo of some object where you wouldn't normally expect it to be. A toothbrush in the toilet, a banana in your CD ROM drive, etc.
Attempt #2.
For TACWDD.
This was Emily's band name that she wanted to use someday and since we decided we're both singing on this, I could use that band (hence the note at the top right, teehee, E and M).
Standpipe Connection: Something, a fire thingy maybe or a hose, that you see on every floor when you go up the stairs in Robert Bell.
Socrates: A certain boy about whom we have many stories. We call him Socrates because we didn't like Socrates in high school and thought he deserved his hemlock. All he did was confuse people so much until they just feebly agreed with him.
J's: Nicknames for evil boys, standing for Jerk. Yes, we were fun in high school. We liked code names.
Twizzlers/Diet Coke: Twizzlering is the act of eating Twizzlers and drinking Diet Coke or Sprite whilst talking about the boy dramas in our lives (usually mine).
So while this may not earn me a gold star for the week for the class because no one will get the references, I love it. And the colors of the Twizzlers and the wall together make me happy.
cwd1132 ~ Bridge - Bridges are pretty amazing structures. Find an interesting one and photograph it in an interesting way. Please no "hey, there's a bridge, let's snap a quick shot through the windshield while we're driving" submissions please. :-)
Formerly Dykehead Road, I guess somebody didn't like that name
Taken for A Class with Dave : Street Sign (rejected)
cwd183: Magazine Ad - We're due for another design assignment, don't you think? Choose a product (real or imaginary) and create the ultimate magazine ad. You must use a photo taken this week...add text and other graphics as you see fit. Since your image (in theory) will be used in a magazine, it must have the appropriate aspect ratio -- something along the lines of 8x11. I'm not dictating an exact size (magazines vary), but it certainly shouldn't be square and it shouldn't be wider than it is tall. Have fun! Let's see how professional your ads can look!
A Take-off from a Crown Royal ad I saw a few months ago. Yes, I do suffer for my art.
The original can be seen here:
Taken for A Class with Dave : Landscape.
This guy just wandered into shot as I was pressing the shutter... his dogs were just around the corning
