Decidedly early Welly model from the 1980's when their products were usually unlicensed and were designed to be sold as sub Matchbox products as per the norm with so many Far Eastern toy makers of the era. The supreme irony of course is that in 2019 their 1/64 products are still sold as pocket money toys where applicable yet are considered far superior to anything produced by Matchbox and Mattel in general.
This super crisp looking BMW 3.5 CSL does actually have the BMW name cast in to the baseplate though whether it was authorised to do so is a matter of question, i'm pretty sure later examples has this removed. Tomica style wheels hint at a period when most Welly castings were copies of that brand though maybe somebody can tell me whether this particular BMW 3.5 CSL was originally made by them.
In superb condition for its age, I would go as far as saying mint so perhaps its previous owner was a collector too. Found in a charity shop and kindly donated to my collection by Mikaela.
