No lettuce omg. But we do have 4 peppers (2 purple, same as last year, one light green, one dark green), a bunch of radishes, a bag of sugar snap peas, a bag of pea tendrils, a bag of sauteeing greens, 1/2 dozen eggs, a bunch of red onions, 4 zucchini (I got one very large one to use in making some bread), and 2 turnips.
2 ears of corn, 1 bunch of bok choy, 2 small heads of lettuce, a bunch of greens that I forget the name of, 1 small squash, 1 jar of jam, 2 apples, and 7 purple potatoes.
The 2013 start of farmshare season! We have (l to r bottom): mixed greens, blueberry jam, napa cabbage, kale, pint of strawberries, (l to right top) sauteeing greens,1/2 dozen eggs, oregano (the stalk on top) and the most gorgeous head of lettuce I've seen in a while. This picture does not do it justice.
The last CSA of the year. 3 apples, 3 potatoes, a bag of mixed greens, a bag of sauteeing greens, a butternut squash, and a pint of cranberries. We also traded in a head of cabbage (we still have the old one from a few weeks back!) for an acorn squash. Oh yes, and another package of Cloumage cheese.
an early June CSA share:
napa cabbage, carrots, snow peas, salad mix with nasturtium petals, mustard greens, kale, broccoli, mixed basil bunch, mixed herb bunch (oregano, parsley, thyme, dill and sage), summer tea herbs (spearmint, peppermint, lime basil, lemon balm and calendula). folks pay $20/week for a full share like this.
Transylvania University hosted a CSA fair that was open to the public for local farmers to come and educate people on how to buy local produce.
We have a wily kitten named Weiland. He likes to pull things out of boxes and bowls, as if he has thumbs. I found him playing with my first hot pepper of the CSA season in the freaking bathroom. The bathroom! How did he even get it all the way over there?
2 peaches of a good size, 3 tomatoes that aren't big but seem ripe enough without being too ripe, 2 peppers, 2 onions (one red, one yellow), a head of lettuce, a bag of green beans, a small eggplant, and 3 ears of corn. And a "bunch of herbs" as it was described in the pickup. I had to finally ask him what it was - apparently, it's a kind of spicy basil. >.< REALLY okay, stop with the basil!
