Vegetables from week 7 of my CSA

1 pint strawberries, 1 container of cloumage (cheese) 1 bag of peas, 2 kohlrabi (1 purple, one white/green), 1 head lettuce, 1 bunch of kale (I think he said Tuscan?), 1 bunch of turnips.

CSA Week 4: rhubarb, broccoli, cucumber, dill, cilantro, chard, strawberries, salad mix, sugar snap peas

Here's what we got this week

Romaine Lettuce, Green Kale, Green Beans, Bing Cherries, Cucumber, Green Onions, Broccoli, Red Potatoes, Baby Red Beets, Carrots, Nectarines, Mango, Yellow Peaches.

The cherries are amazing and will probably be gone with 24 hours!

From top left: 1 lb snap peas, romaine lettuce, red leave lettuce, escarole, carrots, turnips, chard, mustard greens and a couple of radishes. I happened to mention at the pick-up how the large share got radishes and I hoped the small share (that's us!) got some next week and this lovely woman said I could take half of hers because she never gets through them all. So nice!

there's 2 heads of pretty lettuce, collard greens, baby red and white onions, brocolli, and weird curly garlic scapes, and RHUBARB!

The CSA basket had a visitor while I was photographing it. Exciting this week: eggplant! Also: cukes, zukes, tomatoes, potatoes, basil, leeks, carrots (whose bushy tops the cat is investigating.)

Although the farmer's n=market's in San Jose are wimpy and disappointing (and it's SOOO close to so many farms!),

our CSA box from Two Small Farms rocks.

Here's a beautiful salad I made from the CSA produce. Okay, the mini-plum tomatoes are from Trader Joe's...

Lettuce

red cabbage

choggia beets

scallions

persian cucumber

sugar plum tomatoes (from Trader Joe's)

I can't wait to try the popcorn! Turnip greens and spinach were in the previous photo, cooked into a galette. Turnips and garlic scapes are part of the dinner plan for tonight, I think. I'm going to attempt the raw kale salad again with the kale.
