See the bitty watermelon? Also, more corn, peaches, endless tomatoes, an eggplant and a green pepper
Our second box from the CSA arrived today, and since so many of you have asked what all it includes, I thought I would show you. Now, keep in mind that we split this box in half with a friend, so we're not eating ALL of this in a week. But we are eating half, which is still a ton.
This week we got: blue potatoes, a large bag of Asian greens, broccoli, a large bunch of spinach, some russian banana fingerling potatoes, green garlic, purple and green kohlrabi, red leaf lettuce, red radishes, rosemary, scallions and strawberries. And the strawberries lasted about 10 minutes. Oh my, they were good.
brussel sprouts, tiny eggplant, a boat load of chard, 8 winter squash (buttercup, acorn, and butter nut), green peppers, and roughly 2 dozen ears of corn.
From Breezy Willow Farm: watermelon, corn, eggs, tomatoes, nuts, zucchini, bread, potatoes, plums, peaches, and apples.

Two containers strawberries (the share this week only contained one, but our farmer asked if I wanted a free container of "seconds" - the imperfect strawberries they can't sell. i did of course - i had to cut out all the bad spots, so the end volume was about half of what you see here, but I used those cut up pieces to make the strawberry muffins).

Got an email from farmer Steve about this one, apologizing for the smallness of the shares - we've had so much rain this spring/summer that flooding and fungus has killed a lot of his vegetables. Sad. We did make a delicious soup from most of this haul, though :)
