Another fine example of what Labor Day in America is all about...the fine men and women of the industrial age when Henry Ford was the chief developer of the assembly line technique of mass production. This forever changed the idea & process of manufacturing and allowed Ford to create the first automobile that middle-class Americans could afford, and resulted in his conversion of the automobile from an expensive luxury item into an accessible conveyance profoundly impacting the landscape of the 20th century. Happy Labor Day...

Dottie the fire dog sits on her bench on the California State Firefighters' Association (CSFA) Fire Steamer. Yes her toe nails are red. She's a girl and is a fire dog, what colors nails should she have? LOL

How fortunate we are to have visited this historical country before the turmoil in January 2011 and the military coup this month.
As British Foreign Secretary William Hague has described the current coup: This was a military intervention in a democratic system, but equally, it was a popular intervention. Everyone of us is eagerly awaiting the transition to a renewed democratic order in an imperfect democracy.

This small mural of a Lego Mini-figure is only about 3-4 feet tall and painted next to a much larger mural adjacent to a parking lot in The Gulch District of Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. I do not know who painted it but, as a huge Lego fan, I love it...

Poem Of Trees
As árvores crescem sós. E a sós florescem.
Começam por ser nada. Pouco a pouco
e então crescem as flores, e as flores produzem frutos,
e os frutos dão sementes,
e as sementes preparam novas árvores.
E tudo sempre a sós, a sós consigo mesmas.
Sem verem, sem ouvirem, sem falarem.
Sós.
De dia e de noite.
Sempre sós.

What is hidden behind the rocks you may wonder? Well, it wasn't me that was hiding. That's for sure. No, what is hidden behind those rocks is a fishing boat.
These guys have the whole ocean to do their fishing... but no... this one guy has to park his boat right there at the beach in front of the lighthouse. Messed up all my long exposures. Grrr...
And of course he left as soon as it got too bright for long(er) exposures and the light was turned off.
