I understand that we should 'shoot where we live' – and there are plenty of opportunities to do so – but the Great State of Maine, with its natural beauty, presents a target-rich environment for beautiful shots. Sometimes, you don't even have to wander out of your campsite, as was the case here. We were just sittin' around chilling as the sun went down, and the sky lit up as you see here. While snapping the shutter furiously, I had to remind myself to soak it in.

Morning Glories with plenty of processing: Fragment (Pixite phone app), Embossing and Glowing Edges filters (Photoshop CS5), and the Engraving filter from Filter Forge, with various blends on each layer. Run twice through the oil paint filter in the midst of it all (once by CS5 Pixel Bender, and later through CS6 Oil Paint - each giving different effects), and once through Topaz Clean to smooth and sharpen.

Images taken along the River Wey just below Guildford.

These are some of the first images taken whilst testing out a newly converted full-spectrum Lumix GX1. These were taken with a 590nm Infrared filter on the lens. They were R-B channel swapped in CS6 then processed in LR5.

the southern california timing association (SCTA) has been hosting land speed racing meets at el mirage dry lake in the mojave desert since 1937. racers come from all over california to test their skills, to see who can go the fastest in 1.3 miles from a standing start. the event is full of colorful cars, bikes and characters.
