This photograph captures a serene lakeside scene with fifteen houses and trees reflected in the calm water. The sky is overcast with a layer of clouds, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The houses are situated along the shoreline, surrounded by lush green trees, and their reflections are clearly visible in the still water, enhancing the symmetry and beauty of the scene.
This image is interesting because it captures the natural beauty and tranquility of a lakeside community, highlighting the harmony between human habitation and nature.
The tell-tale turquoise blue, caused by ice-ground rock powder deposited in the water, is a dead giveaway that this stream flows from a glacier, high on Mount Rolleston.

Hvar, Croatia. This is a cropped version of this. Resurrecting this photo makes me want to return there for a longer trip. The weather was great, the food wonderful, and the scenery stunning.
I took a walk along the shoreline and this is but one of the many scenic views. Beauty was everywhere. There were several places where many women were t o p l e s s but I didn't feel I should be snapping shots of them...I needed to respect their privacy....
Although the water was very clear, the bottom was usually rocky so there were only a few places that swimmers used.
"Colors of Lake Michigan Abstract 03" by Patti Deters. These are the actual colors of the lakebed of Lake Michigan, as seen on a clear day. The water is so clear you can easily see the brilliant turquoise, with shades ranging from a pale, almost translucent blue green near the shore to a deeper, more vibrant teal and even navy further out. This mesmerizing and enchanting coloration along with the random shapes of the lakebed offer up lovely and peaceful abstract imagery. This is the inside of the cave where the clear water wasn't as deep but marine life was quite visible. I had a lot of fun swimming and taking pictures. I left from here when there was no sunlight and that's whn the water started changing colors. It was quite confusing at first how to take pictures here and getting the settings right but only people who have visited this place can tell if i did justice to this shot. This place was like a hidden treasure. Absolutely beautiful !
Here's a Video someone else made from the inside jus by standing at the entrance of the cave. More pictures would be coming soon as i slowly recover them :(

Salento.
Salento (Salentu in local dialect) is the south-eastern extremity of the Apulia region of Italy. It is a sub-peninsula of the main Italian peninsula, sometimes described as the "heel" of the Italian "boot". It encompasses the entire administrative area of the province of Lecce, a large part of the administrative area of Brindisi and part of that of Taranto. The peninsula is also known as Terra d'Otranto, and in ancient times was called variously Messapia, Calabria, and Salentina.

History
Messapia (from Greek Μεσσαπία) was the ancient name of a region of Italy largely corresponding to modern Salento. It was inhabited chiefly by the Messapii in classical times. Pokorny derives the toponym from PIE *medhyo-, "middle" and PIE *ap-, "water" (Mess-apia, "amid waters"; Note: the asterisk before a word indicates that it is a hypothetical construction, not an attested form). Pokorny compares the toponym Messapia to another ancient Italic toponym, Salapia, "salt water", a city in Apulia.
Salento peninsula is a rock of limestone dividing the Adriatic Sea from the Ionian Sea. Known also as "peninsula salentina", from a geo-morphologic point of view it encompasses the land borders between Ionian sea and the Adriatic sea to the “Messapic threshold”, a depression that runs along the Taranto-Ostuni line and separates it from the Murge. Its borders are:
Taranto, in the province of the same name;
Pilone, in the territory of Ostuni (province of Brindisi),
Santa Maria di Leuca, in the province of Lecce.

Not long into our hike, we came across a wetland - a mucky system of stick and earth dams, conspicuously created by beavers at some point, probably long ago.
Sections of bridge and boardwalk, kept us out of the wettest parts of the trail, and below one of the bridges, along the bank, we came across an extended family of newts.
Seen along the Hurricane Mountain Trail: a 7-mile round-trip hike (11.25 km), starting from the Route 9N Trailhead, and ending at the fire tower summit, with a 2000 foot ascent (610 meters).

New Zealand is gorgeous! It's just perfect!!! Everything here is more magnificent!!! I did everything I could do (walking, bungy jumping, hourse riding, driving, etc)There are so many different geographical landscapes: mountains, woods, marshes, desert, rolling hills and of course the sea......What more could you want? It's esactly like in "The Lord of the Rings"......So it was litterally going to another world of clean air, crystalclear water and the green color of the trees and snow as well. I don't know how I can describe it.....Beautiful, astonishing, amazing; It's like Tolkien walked across NZ and then sat down to write the trilogy.....wow......I've been watching the films all day.......Now I'm going to see the third one.........I loved being there and I really look forward to going back in the future, I've only been to the Nouth Island so...................................It's a wanderful place!!!!!
So great to see the ice & snow melting & that the birds & ducks have a choice of whether they want to to land or swim during the spring thaw! Both cold, but different! (Best on black)

The glass drops in these earrings have been hand-dipped in clouding solution to create a satin sheen before set to dangle on delicate matching gold-tone hooks designed by hand for a unique and graceful shape.
This is the headwaters of the San Marcos River in San Marcos, Texas, USA.
I will write more about this location in future posts, but it is a very unique area of Texas thanks to the Edwards Aquafer and the limestone formations.
Human history is long in this location. The area near the springs (only 1/4 mile away from this photo) has been inhabited for over 12,000 years continuously. It is one of the oldest, if not oldest, continuously inhabited geographic locations in the northern hemisphere.
