I like crystal clear, icy cold water.

with the recent acquisition of a box of fabulous vintage buttons, this stunning (and i do mean stunning) ring is just the kind of statement that draws people's attention!
the largest button is just slightly larger than a quarter and is clear, concaved, faceted glass. this button alone would have been perfectly happy on someone's finger, but i felt it needed a friend or two. so, i placed inside its "bowl" another clear round vintage button (this one is faceted plastic) and topped it all off with a slightly off-center, pretty vintage pearlescent button. All this on a gorgeous floral engraved silver-toned adjustable ring!
want to make a statement? this is definitely it. and, because there is almost no color, it can go with absolutely anything!

Capturing another one of nature's beautiful ocean sunsets. This was during me & my cousin’s sunset outing here at Salinas River State Beach. This was a very spontaneous outing that I planned. I was missing my ocean sunsets so when I saw that it was crystal clear by the coast, that’s when I asked my cuzz if she wanted to tag along. We finally went to see the sunset at the Salinas River State Beach, located around Moss Landing, CA. We arrived shortly before sunset so we still had time to take in last minute ocean views before the sunset took place. We later stopped at Sonic in Gilroy for dinner before heading home lol. Despite such a brief outing, we enjoyed a mini road trip to the beach! (Sunday, November 13, 2022)
*A bit about Salinas River State Beach: The beach & dunes at Salinas River State Beach are part of Monterey Bay’s unique coastal dune system & it is home to many species of birds, including the California brown pelican, red-tailed hawk, American kestrel, western snowy plover, western gull, black phoebe, western scrub-jay, California towhee, white-crowned sparrow, and more. The beach is a popular fishing site & provides scenic panoramic views of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, a federal marine protected area. The location is picture-perfect for sunsets as well & is close to restaurants around the vicinity. The beach is also never crowded which is a plus! For sure, I’ll visit this beach again in the future.
Santorini - population 13,000. Rumoured to be the tips of mountains on the lost continent of Atlantis.
Whatever it is, it’s extraordinarily beautiful. Crystal clear blue skies, black sand, towering cliffs and traditional blue and white Greek buildings balancing in and on the cliffsides.
The only place in Europe to be classified as having a desert climate - as you can see - the day we went it wasn’t particularly chilly.
Lots to see, visit and do. Not too crowded when we went, as there was only one small cruise ship visiting. It gets far more crowded when there are 2 or 3 large liners pulled up.
Incredible, panoramic views from ultra-cool tavernas and bars perched on the cliff face. Prices a bit more than elsewhere on the islands, but still surprisingly reasonable. Stopped at 2 bars for drinks and a taverna for lunch. All had stunning views and reasonable prices. I must admit though, I don’t mind paying a premium for views like these.
Kayangan Lake, which is located at Coron Island, Northern Palawan, Philippines is said to be the cleanest lake in the Philippines. Sometimes called the Blue Lagoon, this freshwater lagoon is amidst sheer limestone cliffs. This beautiful picture-perfect scenery can be seen after a brief walk up a mountain trail.
The first picture taken using my brand new Canon PowerShot SX200 IS. This is actually a compressed version of the original, which was a whopping 4000 x 3000.
The water that gushes out of the huge spring at Weeki WWachee is very pure, and crystal-clear. Because it is always 74 degrees, in colder weather, manatees commonly swim up the river all the way to the spring. We were fortunate to see them several times.
A Cypress tree can be seen growing in the river. They were common along the banks.
Taken during a freezing rain storm near Frosty Hollow, Moorefield, West Virginia, USA.
Mostly, the rain was pouring heavily, so I had my camera in a 1 gallon freezer bag with the hooded lens poking out. I could barely see the LCD or the viewfinder, so I did these in program shift mode.
Hours later, my fingers are still tingling from the extreme cold I subjected them to--so I picked out what I thought were the best, and did an automatic batch edit in Elements for contrast/brightness only.
Usually I do fairly extensive editing, but the shots in this collection are pretty much as they looked straight from the camera.
