Could not resist these perched birds, a Limpkin and White Ibis taken at Circle B Bar Reserve in Florida last winter.
Could not resist to preserve this arrangement. It was cold outside and these chairs are metal, so no point in hanging around for anyone to sit down. One day I´ll start shooting pictures with people in them. What else is there that is interesting really?
And again I could not pass by this beautiful cat :)
Adult, cautious and curious. Kitty was very interested in why I called him and what I had in my hands ... but caution prevailed. The cat did not come close to me and was ready to run away if I took a step towards.
The one and only McGown Peak, as backdrop to Stanley Lake, provides an experience that boderes on the religious and sometimes even more.
For a sense of scale, Stanley Lake sets at an elevation of 6513 ft (1985 m) and McGown summit is 9860 ft (3010 m)
A good friend and I left Boise in the middle of the night to catch sunrise here and the lack of sleep was totally worth it. It was one of those mornings, that if you listened close you could hear the mountains sing.
...you could already feel the oncoming rain in the air...it was so peaceful, far from the hustle and bustle of the world.
Remember, context is one thing, but peace is acausal.
Could have been a project for Sliders Sunday as I had a lot of work with the white background. I have this faux leather piece with leather patterns on it but they hardly ever look good on a picture, so I tried to blur them out. More work than I expected and the bowl got blurry too. I liked that effect because everything looked even more blue and the shadows of the bowl look milky somehow so I left it.
Everyone who is affected by fatigue and chronic pain I am sending you healing thoughts
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.”

If I could fly like the king of the sky
Could not tumble nor fall
I would picture it all
If I could fly..........Helloween
Thank you for visiting.
You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when you're down on your knees
I wouldn't do that
I'll tell you you're right when you want
And if only you could see into me
Oh, when you're cold
I'll be there
Hold you tight to me
When you're on the outside baby and you can't get in
I will show you you're so much better than you know
When you're lost and you're alone and you can't get back again
I will find you darling and I will bring you home
And if you want to cry
I am here to dry your eyes
And in no time
You'll be fine
You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when you're down on your knees
I wouldn't do that
I'll tell you you're right when you want
And if only you could see into me
Oh when you're cold
I'll be there
Hold you tight to me
Oh when you're low
I'll be there
By your side baby

The sound of a woodland kingfisher during spring in South Africa can be so abundant and noisy. Sitting on a branch so close to each other is another thing. You must be lucky seeing this or just be patient...
Thank you so much dear Flickr friends for your visit, faves and comments.
The male Vermilion Flycatcher has such a distinctive look. Probably has to do with the thick, black eye-line. Like the female is a busy little bee. So much fun to watch. Wish we could see this beauty further North.
What could be better than a drive across the glorious heather moors before dropping down into the stunning village of Staithes on the North Yorkshire coast? Once a busy fishing community, Staithes is a jumble of whitewashed, pantile-roofed cottages clinging to the hillside, threaded through with narrow ginnels leading to the pretty harbour and beach.
The young James (later Captain) Cook had his first job here (as an apprentice grocer, oddly, not a seaman), and the cobbles, alleys and cottages are pretty much as they were in the eighteenth century.
Like North Falls further upstream, Middle North Falls has certain characteristics which one could argue give it an edge when comparing it to the park's main attraction, South Falls. Despite being considerably shorter, Middle North Falls is a markedly amorphous waterfall which changes physical shape in a very dramatic way as the volume of water in North Silver Creek changes. The 106 foot tall falls take the form of a narrow column of water during the summer months, funneled to perhaps 5 feet wide at most by a narrow runnel in the bedrock. With greater stream flow in the winter and spring months however, North Silver Creek sheets out across the 60-foot wide creek bed and turns the falls into a broad curtain of water, with part of the falls impacting on a twisting chute of basalt which then slides to join the more volumnous half of the creek in the plunge pool.
Middle North Falls is one of four waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park which features a trail which traverses behind the falling water. Unlike the other three, the trail leading behind Middle North Falls is a dead-end, constructed purely to allow access to additional views of the falls.
This photo could symbolize many things. Suppression of little people; Dictatorship; Deep State; Big Brother; oppression against women. In fact, it represents the opposite. Jan Žižka led an army of peasants, little people against the powerful Roman Empire and they were victorious due his clever military tactics for many years (1419-1434) even after his death in 1424. Equipped with simple modified farming tools, his small army demonstrated the Power of People. The monumental bronze statue was sculpted by B. Kafka in 1931-1941 and is part of Vítkov National Monument. Žižka historical heroics are always on the mind of the Czech folk, when their freedoms are in jeopardy.

Could I hold you for a lifetime?
Could I look into your eyes?
Could I have this night to share this night together?
Could I hold you close beside me?
Could I hold you for all time?
Could I (could I) could I have this kiss forever?
Could I (could I), could I have this kiss forever? (Forever) and ever
Hammerfest is a municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Hammerfest. Some of the main villages in the municipality include Rypefjord, Forsøl, Hønsebybotn, Akkarfjord i Kvaløya, Akkarfjord i Sørøya, and Kårhamn.
The municipality encompasses parts of three large islands: Kvaløya, Sørøya, and Seiland. Other small islands such as Håja, Lille Kamøya and Kamøya are also located here.
Most of the area municipality does not have a road connection with the rest of Norway (!!!). Only Kvaløya island is connected via the Kvalsund Bridge.
The "midnight sun" is above the horizon from 14 May to 31 July (79 days), and the period with continuous daylight lasts a bit longer, polar night from 23 November to 19 January (59 days).
You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found this cold American robin resting in one of the crabapple trees here at the park today. At least it was still finding a few crabapples to eat.

If I could paint I might paint something like this...... but unfortunately, I have no talent for painting and marvel at people that do. Instead, I've relied on a series of sliders and filter choices, a form of push button painting that I'm unsure of but remain paint curious. I've been trying to develop an image that relies on the genius of van Gogh's art for inspiration and although I believe I've failed in that endeavor, I do feel like I've produced a pleasing paint image. This image was posted back in 2013 (see comments) and reprocessed with Akvis Paint software.

Happy Slider Sunday! HSS - Been a bit out of sorts with family matters but I'll be back up to speed shortly! Thanks for all the kind thoughts along the way!!
I could say they are very helpful.....but I would be lying. Ha ha. At least they give me wonderful opportunities for photos and it is my fault for having food around for them so the deal is they do the gardening and I do the photo shoots.

Timmy looks so innocent when he sleeps. But yesterday at noon he came home and lay down on the coffee table, looking just as innocent. Then I saw white fur under the claws of one hind paw and one front paw. He had probably had another fight with Sammy :-(
At night in bed I could also feel a crest on his head. He is just a rascal - but a very sweet one :-)

The winter and the cold wave came to Switzerland.
With this picture I did not make it easy for me. At first I really could not decide which photo to put on flickr. I wrestled with myself, because I would like to present the most beautiful photo for my friends here. Secondly, the picture was made under very difficult external conditions, because it was really "bitterly cold". I could barely touch my hands after photographing and yet I wanted to get a nice photo of these beautiful ice crystals. I succeeded, more or less, because the background was not ideal for that. In addition, my faithful friend Roco had to wait for me and there I no longer want to start one try after another. This time I did not want to make any compromises with the warm colors of the picture, because the cold should be very touchable. I believe this has succeeded with this picture. I am fascinated by this "little work of art". Each little detail is a miracle of creation, because it was shaped by the elements of nature and radiates its brilliance as long as this nature allows.
I am grateful for these little things without which life would not be so beautiful and interesting.
Rejoice over the elements of nature.
Erwin
I thank you all for the interest and enthusiasm for my work here. I am happy about every comment from you and every time you like my pictures. Thank you very much for all the favorites and for watching my photos.
Small supplement of today:
The winter has caught up with me too, for I am terribly cold. Nevertheless, or just because of this, I am looking forward to every single word from you. Also, I always see in the little things, which makes the importance and beauty of life. Wish all of you a blessed time, without illness and with much love and joy. Hope you can all be in a nice warm place, because outside it is extremely cold here. Brrrrrr .....

Could have been a nice retreat from the city. But modern life takes its toll and far too often people aren't where they are.
...could you please make that with whole milk but write "soy" on the cup..? People judge...yah know...
