The Umbrella Corporation recently purchased two buildings near downtown for unknown reasons.

They are doing a complete overhaul and removing all equipment related to heating/cooling of the building. Entry ways are closely guarded.

Early this morning a ship landed next to the larger building. No one heard any sound from the ship. One reporter quoted the ship as being silent as the grave. Air Traffic Controllers from DFW Airport had no indication that a plane of any kind had been in the area.

A snake-like tube from the ship powered itself up near the top of the building and for a moment, a gurgling sound was heard. The outside of the building is definitely changing shape, and the colors are now all blue or a shade of blue.

Local and state police have made it impossible to get near the buildings.

How can an inanimate object change shape?

Manufacturer: British Motor Corporation Limited (BMC), Longbridge - UK

Type: Sprite AN5 Mark 1

Engine: 948cc straight-4

Power: 43 bhp / 5.200 rpm

Speed: 133 km/h

Production time: 1958 - 1961

Production outlet: 48,987

Curb weight: 692 kg

Special:

- It was a design by Donald Mitchell Healey as a low cost sports car.

- In the UK it's called "Frogeye", in the US "Bugeye" and in Germany "Froschauge".

- The headlights mounted on the top of hood were "lifted" because of U.S. Import legislation.

- Concealed flip-up headlamps were in the original drawings but high production costs canceled those plans.

- To build this little sports car they used Austin, MG and Morris parts.

- The engine for example was also used in the Austin A35 and Morris Minor 1000 Series and the rack and pinion steering was derived from the Morris Minor 1000 Series and the front suspension from the Austin A35.

- It has no exterior door handles and no exterior boot lid (the back seats would need to be folded down to get access, incl. the spare tire).

- It was made at the MG works in Abingdon and sold for £669, so the intention of keeping the price low worked.

- The engine has two 1 ⅛ "inch SU carburettors, a close-ratio four-speed manual gearbox, rear wheel drive and drum brakes.

- The entire front hood hinged upwards, allowing easy and convenient access to the engine.

- By the quarter-elliptic rear springs, a simple self-supporting body and little weight, the Sprite is a rigid car to drive: But real fun to drive ☺☺!

- They are still very popular for club racing.

Considering the Atlas Mining Corporation (or Atlas Corporation) is the largest and wealthiest human commercial mining corporation in the observable universe, it's no wonder they take substantial consideration into ensuring that their assets are secure. In fact, the size of the Atlas Corporation's private security force rivals that of many localised policing authorities. As well as close to 135,000 security personnel, the Atlas Corporation takes pride in its elite force of Surveyors. These men, often war veterans or acclaimed Bounty Hunters, adopt a Lone Wolf mindset and lifestyle. Their official job as a Surveyor is to make planetfall on a prospective mining location and provide reconnaissance or even stake a claim on it. However, there are abundant rumours that Surveyors are also used to undertake any job too 'dirty' for standard Atlas personnel. Some entities have gone as far as attempting to persecute the Atlas Corporation for:

-A team of Surveyors rumoured to have engineered a coup on Zenith Alpha.

-A Surveyor assassinating a Government Official and his entourage on Thessia.

-A suspected bombing of rival mining corporation equipment over land disputes (the land in question was annexed by the Atlas Corporation)

-Multiple other alleged crimes.

Other, unofficial rumours suggest that the Atlas Corporation uses Surveyors to perform crackdowns on uncooperative personnel and executions without trial. - The Extranet Encyclopedia, 2145

Building up character to my overarching space storyline with ITO and general creepiness. I may do a backstory for the Atlas Corporation itself at some point. Don't hold your breath though.

Torso and legs of figure are a commission from Richard Goff.

From 1971 - 1972, SELNEC PTE took delivery of 21 experimental double-decker buses for service evaluation. All were bodied by Northern Counties of Wigan with SELNEC's newly designed 'Standard' bus bodies. Six of these buses were Leyland PDR1s (EX1-6), and the rest (EX7-21) were Daimler Fleetlines. The last five (EX17-21), arrived in February 1972 as dual-doored buses. The Fleetline chassis for these vehicles had originally been ordered by Rochdale Corporation.

EX17 TNB757K

EX18 TNB758K

EX19 TNB759K

EX20 TNB760K

EX21 TNB761K

Of the five, EX20 was delivered in an allover advert livery for Barclaycard, becoming the first SENEC bus to carry an allover advert.

Towards the end of 1972, SELNEC decided to renumber EX1-EX21 into the 5xxx & 6xxx series to match the rest of the double deck fleet. EX17-EX21 became 6250-6254, which fitted into the Rochdale District numbering series, these buses being allocated to Rochdale at that time. SELNEC and later GMPTE, continued to use the EX numbering system for experimental buses under evaluation.

In 1974, 6253 (EX20) was painted into to standard orange & white livery fleet livery, as the Barclays advert was likely looking tired and out of contract. Around the same time, Fleetline 7361 (YNA316M) took up the mantle of being the poster-board for Barclaycard.

The picture shows 6253 on the bus stands off South Parade, Rochdale in 1974. 6253 is devoid of its SELNEC Northern decals, as it is likely on the cusp of the GMPTE takeover of SELNEC in April 1974. The building behind the bus was at the time a Burton's menswear store.

These buses were later painted into what became the standard GMPTE livery, which used a darker shade of orange than the former SELNEC livery. 6250 (EX17) went onto received the 1980 brown, orange and white 'Jaffa' livery.

In 1983, GMPTE withdrew two Manchester 'Standards', the first of the kind, both had been fire damaged. In 1984 as new buses arrived, the withdrawal of the Manchester 'Standards' began in earnest. Dual-doored buses were now firmly out of favour and 6250-6254 were all withdrawn that year. With the exception of 6252 (EX19), all went to scrap. 6252 was acquired by the 16th Middleton Scout & Guide Group for transport. As a consequence, the bus survived long enough to be acquired by the SELNEC Bus Preservation Society for preservation in September 1998. The bus remains unrestored and very recently (June 2025), has been offered for sale by the SELNEC.P.S as a source of spares, suggesting that it is in a poor state of repair.

I am not an expert on Manchester buses, but I hope that my background research and notes above do justice to the subject. I am happy to stand corrected where there is error.

Manufacturer: British Motor Corporation (BMC), Longbridge - UK

Type: Morris Mini Cooper MK III

Engine: 848cc straight-4

Power: 37 bhp / 5.500 rpm

Speed: 115 km/h

Production time: 1968 - 1980

Production time: 1959 - 1992/2000

Production outlet: 5,387,862

Curb weight: 615 kg

Special:

- This design of Sir Alec Issigonis became the icon of all "bubble cars": front wheel drive with a small engine transversely mounted.

- Alec Issigonis solved major front suspension problems by building the transmission into the crankcase under a transverse engine, using a floor gearshift a simple rubber cones-in-torque suspension (variable spring pressure and no maintenance / no lubrication) and small wheels.

- The actual Mini is two inches wider than the prototype, because of safety measures.

- It has a four-speed manual gearbox ( second and fourth synchronized) and one SU carburettor.

- The Primeval-Mini (850cc engine) was named Austin Seven or Morris Mini-Minor ("The car that belongs to the future, belongs to you!") until 1969 when BMC "lifted" Mini as an independent brand.

- They were produced in the Cowley plant, Oxford (1959-1968) and in the Longbridge plant, Birmingham (1959-2000).

- But a "compact design" has its price: a sober interior, sliding windows, doors with a pull cord, little luggage room and and a "going to the bones" vibration as the engine must "slave" in low gears.

- But the Mini was safe, stable, and extremely forgiving (in the middle of a turn, you could your foot off the accelerator without risk!).

- The Mini was improved continuously throughout its long life. For example, rubber suspension was replaced by a hydrolastic system (1964), 1000cc engine (1967), automatic gearbox (1968) and front disc brakes(1984).

- From 1964 through 1967 the little car dominated the Monte Carlo Rally. The car easily achieved these victories using a 91 horsepower engine.

- It was available as MK I(1959−1967), MK II (1967−1969), MK III(1969−1976), MK IV(1976−08/1984), and MK V08/1984-1992). Later as "limited editions": MK VI (1992−10/1996 SPi Single Point Injection) and MK VII (10/1996− 4. Oktober 2000).

- And many variants like Mini Cooper and Cooper S (1961–2000), Morris Mini Traveller and Austin Mini Countryman (1961–1969), Mini Clubman and 1275GT (1969–1980),

Mini Van (1960–1982), Mini Pick-up (1961–1982) and Morris Mini K (March 1969 – August 1971, Australia only), Mini Moke (1964–1989).

- Mini (styled MINI) is both the name of a subsidiary of BMW, and a car produced by that subsidiary since 2001. The car is marketed as a "retro" redesign of the original Mini, and manufactured in Cowley, Oxford, United Kingdom, in what was historically the Morris car plant.

I keep on fear, keep on loathing

Nothing brings it on I keep on falling

Decide what it is I can not find

It's subsides what you make it

Never feel like you're gonna break it

It's gonna be alright alright

Sleep until the morning comes

The sun will warm your soul

Sleep until the morning comes for you

Til the morning

it's alright

I can walk into the sunlight, into the day,

I feel it falling, nothing comes to my mind

Bring it on in a different tide

I feel alright, alright

I feel strong, i feel rigid

It's nothing to do with the vision

Oh feels so right, so right

Sleep on tight, sleep on tight

Sleep until the sunlight

Sleep on tight, til the sunlight burns you happy

Til the sunlight burns you happy, till the sunlight burns a happy whole in

Your heart,

In your heart

In your heart...

Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is named after Amway Corporation, which is based in nearby Ada Township.

Originally known as The Pantlind Hotel (founded in 1913), the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel reopened in 1981 after extensive renovations done by Marvin DeWinter & Associates, including the addition of a 29-story glass tower. The Pantlind's designers Warren & Wetmore were inspired by the work of the Scottish neoclassical architect Robert Adam. During its prime years, the hotel was consistently rated as one of the top ten hotels in the US.

The hotel is owned by AHC+Hospitality, a subsidiary of Amway's holding company Alticor. Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is a member of the Curio Collection by Hilton, an affiliation which began in 2016
