Out there on your own on a stormy day, it's still pretty easy to stay connected - as this person seemed to be doing. For us over the last few weeks, it was more about some long overdue family time. Back home now, it will take a few days to catch up, but I look forward to seeing what my Flickr friends have been up to and re-connecting.
This seemingly forgotten footbridge has been overgrown by the summer's brush.

Die "I am European" Lok der DB (193 360) brachte am 30. September den Connecting Europe Express von Berlin nach Hamburg. Im Bild hat der Zug Berlin gerade hinter sich gelassen und fährt über die Schnellfahrstrecke gen Stendal und weiter nach Hamburg...
Op 30 september 2021 reed de Connecting Europe Express van Berlijn naar Hamburg. Door werkzaamheden werd via Stendal gereden en dit bood de mogelijkheid deze trein te Neugarten op de "Schnellfahrstrecke" te fotografieren.
Gelukkig lukte het net met de wolken en reed de goederentrein (in de achtergrond is nog een witte ketelwagen te zien) net snel genoeg. Op de foto rijdt 193 360 "I am European" voorop. Achterop loopt nog de 101 057.

The Delray Connecting emerges out of the hell that is Zug Island with finished steel, coke, and other shit to be interchanged with CN at South Yard in Ecorse. In the background is Belanger interlocking which is still protected by DT&I searchlights. Although most of the hot mill operations at the Great Lakes Works have been indefinitely idled since 2020, steel processing and coke production continue at the plant, for now.

This ridge divides, or probably I should say connects, the two ranges of mountains that I love the most, those of the basin of the Sesia river and those of the basin around the great Toce river.

In the past, I crossed several passes above this ridge and even climbed a few summits, but It has been a very long time since I visited Turlo. Maybe more than twenty years. It is a pleasure to get back to a place and find that nothing has changed. It is like your memories could shine brighter, at least for the brief time you spend in the place that creates that sort of magic.
Probably, it is a pleasure that those who started to hike and climb mountains when they were very young have felt several times.

The impressive Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) is connecting the northern with the sounthern part of Ronda in Analusia.
