Okay, not really corrupted, just horribly out dated.....
A slightly used CD with water drops lit using a cheap LED flashlight. Why? Because it was winter and I was bored.

This would be proof that music is colorful if it weren't for one fact. It's not a music CD. I have recently purchased a new tripod that should make this kind of imagery much easier. We'll see pretty soon, right now I'm having too much fun playing with my hot rod.
From how sound has been recorded for us to how science has driven forward our ability to store our sound. Technology would be nowhere without the science....

Can I get to your soul?
Can you get to my thought?
Can we promise we won't let go?
All the things that I need
All the things that you need
You can make it feel so real
Cause you can't deny, you've blown my mind
When I touch your body
I feel I'm losing control
Cause you can't deny, you've blown my mind
When I see you baby
I just don't want to let go
For the next series of shots, I blame Shetha for the mushrooms (or maybe it's just the medicine). I need to take a break from "pretty".
For Macro Mondays theme 'Small and Smaller' - a couple of 80mm Mini CD singles layered between regular sized 120mm CDs
Happy Macro Monday!
Early on the Studio Ghibli albums & cds all came with cel reproductions. This is the one from the cd release of the Lapüta OST.

I stream video, but I don't stream music. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'll watch a certain movie only so and so often, with long breaks before I'll watch it again, but if it's a favourite song or record / CD, or a favourite band, I will listen to that again and again before it's another song's / band's or musician's turn. And I guess I want this to be "my" music, something that, via the recording medium, is within my space, physically. Not just bits and bytes out there in that infinite, impersonal, kind of lost world of data. Not to mention nicely made "Deluxe Editions" with interesting covers, booklets, and info which all add another aspect to the music I'm listening to.
So this is a CD. My first idea was to capture the tiny info that is lasered onto the backside of a CD (the part around the hole), but all the results looked kind of boring. But then I found a CD where some of the song titles were so long that some of them were actually printed onto the part next to the CD's hole. And since that part of the CD is also translucent, I had both "letters" (from the song title), and, mirror-inverted, "numbers" and more letters from the backside of the CD in my image. I've again used the extension tubes to get nicely close to all these numbers and letters. The image is an in-camera focus stack, processed in DXO PhotoLab and Analog Efex, with a slight sharpening in Sharpen AI.
HMM, Everyone, and Sing A Simple Song this week ;)
In a world of digital music and streaming, the CD and vinyl records are becoming relics of the past....

Macro Mondays Challenge ‘Hole’....... it’s been a while since I last played a CD (compact disc) with most of the music in our home being streamed or downloaded my CD collection remains fairly untouched, the end of the revolution!
Cuba is a popular tourist destination for many Canadians, a great escape from winter and chance to experience a very different culture.

Spider Web!!!!! WooooHooo. I went outside early this afternoon to take some shots of the beautiful colors of the trees and found this perfectlyround spider web in the trees. I got a little dizzy from trying to get the right light on it since it was so high up, but I think this was the best of the bunch. Of course, a lot of you don't like the frames, but I felt I needed to frame my first spider web shot for myself.

This photo is for the group Macro Mondays and this week the theme is "Evolution".
I still have quite a few of my old cassettes even though I listen to CD's. Most of my CD's are of music that's from the 1960's-1980's.

« Je ne sais si c’est un effet subtil de lumière, un bruit vague, le souvenir d’une odeur, ou une musique résonnant sous les doigts de quelque influence extérieure, qui m’a apporté soudain, alors que je marchais en pleine rue, ces divagations que j’enregistre sans hâte, tout en m’asseyant dans un café, nonchalamment. » (F.P.)

To create this shot I lit a CD with a little halogen desk light. I used my 55mm macro lens at its closest focussing distance and set my Nikon D80 to multiple exposure (choosing 2 shots) Exposure was manual and I underexposed it a little.
Apart from tweaking the levels a little and cropping it square it is nearly straight out of camera.

This is one of my best composition in 2015, I composed this image by using a marble and a compact disc,to get the flame effect i melt the centre part of the cd and fixed the marble in the hole and applied light. No photoshop tricks.
