Oh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright

You can't be forever blessed

Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day

And I'm trying to get some rest

That's all I'm trying to get some rest

Simon and Garfunkel's "Concert in Central Park" was Secretary's first CD ("American Tune" is track #9). He saw Henri Cartier-Bresson's photobook "America in Passing" on his first business trip to Bilbao in the display of a bookstore right next to his hotel and simply could not resist.

The frame of the image is about 1.5" (3.8cm) on a side.

As you may have (not) noticed I am a little behind the wave with photography this year. But I am still here; just trying to do too many things at once…

This is for Sliders Sunday and my 100x project. It’s seven images of some CDs that I was clearing out, all lovely and iridescent in diffuse sunlight from a nearby window. They have been stacked in Affinity Photo in various ways and the results combined (mainly using the result of the Range operator stack).

The symmetry was created by flattening to a new separate layer, rotating half a turn and then blending it back (with Darken in this case).

I've done nothing with the colour or the contrast apart from the blending.

A quick bit of graphic art…

Hope you are well and happy!

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday and 100x :)

Theme: Plastic

Size: Less than 3x3 inches

There are 2 kinds of plastic here ....a section of clear sticky tape folded over a few times resting in the middle of a CD ( Compact Disc ). There are 3 light sources, the room down light, at 12 o'clock, an incandescent light at 11 o'clock and a LED torch light beneath the CD. Back ground colours are from a blue cloth and my trusted yellow physio stretch band.

Many thanks for your visit, comments and favs....it is always appreciated.

(No post-editing allowed other than crop/resize)

I used the in-camera double exposure (resulting in a jpg. format) with the Picture Style set to Monochrome. I've been shooting multiple exposures throughout the house this morning. It's pretty addictive, lol. This is one of our favorite CD's, and perfect for road trips. : )

Experimenting and testing with the drops of water, the CD and the reflections!

Being stuck indoors I’m afraid I had to go for the classic water droplets on compact disc shot

Desperately unhappy with this one today - no matter how I tried I couldn't get the light and focus exactly how I wanted it and time has now got the better of me.

I will nail this down the line :)

I liked how some of last week's water-misted CD shots turned out, but I wanted to create shots that filled the frame more than those prior attempts.

Using a sophisticated series of oven mitts, I propped up a long-neglected "Summer Cruise Mix '05" CD on my stovetop at an upright angle instead of laying a CD flat, then tried to work carefully to ensure less cropping was needed.

It was a lot more difficult to get the droplets to stay in place at an angle, and it limited the DOF, but I think it made for some pretty cool shots that I didn't have to crop too badly.

This would be proof that music is colorful if it weren't for one fact. It's not a music CD. I have recently purchased a new tripod that should make this kind of imagery much easier. We'll see pretty soon, right now I'm having too much fun playing with my hot rod.
