First Communion is the colloquial name for a person's first reception of the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, and in these Christian churches, occurs typically at age seven to thirteen when separated from Confirmation, depending on national custom.
First Communion is traditionally an important religious ceramony for Roman Catholic families. Also, among those raised Catholic, Holy Communion is the third sacrament received from the seven sacraments. This is traditionally practiced by many Roman Catholic families, including Spanish, Italians, Latin Americans, Scottish and Irish.
Traditions surrounding First Communion usually include large family gatherings and parties to celebrate the event and special clothing is usually worn. The clothing is often white to symbolize purity. Girls often wear fancy dresses and a veil attached to a wreath of flowers or hair ornament. In other communities, girls commonly wear dresses passed down to them from sisters or mothers, or even simply their school uniforms plus the veil and/or wreath.
La primera cumunion tradicionalmente es una celebracion religiosa muy importante para las familias Catholicas y para aquellos que han crecido alrededor de esta religion. Esta santa comunion es el tercer sacramento que se recive de una lista total de siete sacramentos. Forget squeeky clean. The bread was a burger bun, and the wine was out of a Micky D's cup. The table was covered in trash that was picked up on the beach front. This was one of four stations to take communion - all were very different.
