Before the fleet deployment of the class 323s, many EMUs were drafted in from elsewhere to allow the gradual withdrawal of the 304s. The most handsome design was the "Clacton" class 309, of which a number were allocated to Longsight. 309623 works out of Piccadilly.

Preserved British Rail Class 08 0-6-0 'Gronk' diesel electric shunter 08786 at Barrow Hill Railway Centre near Chesterfield in Derbyshire (UK).

08786 was built at Derby Works as D3954 in 1960 and was withdrawn from service after 50 years on September 30th 2010.

The Class 08 (09//10/11) shunter 0-6-0 design was based on the LMS Class D3/7 shunter of 1939 and LMS 12033 shunter series for the war department in early 1945, so it's safe to assume the basic body design you see here dates from the late 1930s.

Another Majorette Premium single which managed to escape from all that fancy packaging into the basic range was this superb latest generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class. It now meant all this realism and accuracy could all be yours for less than the price of a HW and MBX but twice the features! One of many bought from Morrisons back in September 2016.
