I decided to swing the camera around for this look back at the Windy City while waiting for the sun to arrive.

From the other side of the city, you could catch the other side of the city sky-line.

Almost to the dark night, probably some time after the sun set , the sky is not totally dark yet.

Could see the light is still on , as people here usually work late.

Night Shoot, long exposure with tripod. some weekend ago

This is actually the "centre " of the Singapore River, at this hour, some office worker are still around in the work place. Visitor could take a stroll along the river, or have some seafood dinner nearby. A good chill-out place will be further down-stream, at the clark-quay, where you could find some faourite night-spot. And even a Bungy jump Station for the daring one.

A common activity will be a bumboat ride along the river, there are a few stand to hop in for a small fee.

Or make a ealrly turn to the Orchard road where all the shopping is, if time is not too late.

A few good musuem is nearby if you have more hours to spare interested in some history and arts

...just some intro and info on hometown...some go around about tips...

Snippets from haze.gov.sg: "Singapore has been affected by severe smoke haze due to forest fires in the region periodically. This is due to the common practice of open burning to clear land for agricultural uses. It can be made worse by dry seasons, changes in wind direction and poor precipitation"

The local authority is being too kind-hearted in writing this. It's missing an important message. The cause of all this? Ask Indonesia government.

View South - East in Manhattan from the Manhattan Bridge looking towards the Brooklyn Bridge and downtown New York City (NYC). I am testing HDRtist Pro HDR Rendering and will be processing some previously shot exposure sets over the next week or so. With this image HDRtist Pro seemed to out-perform Photomatix (I'll post a Photomatix version for comparison later this weekend).

As many of you know shooting at night long exposures from the Manhattan Bridge is not the easiest task with the subway trains passing right next to you making the bridge vibrate. This is a compilation of 4 exposures.

She said to me, " My push for you is to take a night shot where you can see lots and lots of city lights. I'm a sucker for night shots, sorry :-D"

Well, I thought I had this in the bag. I married to the city lights king.

I went through his city lights and pointed to my favorite. I told him to take me there. We start driving and the neighborhood started getting scary. And then a little scarier still. Finally, I felt like I was going to throw up. I knew I was not going to be able to get out of the car and take a long exposure anywhere in that neighborhood. I was also freaking out thinking of him driving around LA at night taking pictures by himself.

He was kind and tried to take me to a "safe" area where I could get some city lights. We get up the hill and it was so foggy. But I knew I had to try.

So here you go. Not my favorite of all time, but I did learn a lot. I learned that my husband is braver than I am. I learned that taking city light shots is hard work. I also learned that I might want to try this again. It was an adventure.

I had to slide the heck out of this because of the fog, so I am also putting it in Sunday Sliders.

(I am really sorry to post and run, but my family and I are doing a community service project today. I will be back tonight to catch up.)

Lavender has become a cliche in popular digital photography: endless farmfields of lavender (with or without glamour models planted in the middle),no matter how skilfully shot and rendered, have become laughing stock pretty much like kittens and bathroom selfies. i'd never go for a lavender shoot...

This, I like to think, is different. Accidentally discovered decorating our rooftop deck, it offers a somewhat different take on the subject and may be spared the 'cliche' sarcasm and thumbs-down?

have been given the opportunity to shoot some pretty special places recently, this is the view from one of them...love this perspective as it has a lot happening in it...

in the center right of the image is the axa building, what was once the tallest structure in sydney...dwarfed by its neighbours now...

harry's mlc tower also makes it into the shot...always thought this was a tall building until i visited new york...there the woolworths building (near downtown i think, built in 1913) is only slightly smaller...made me feel like sydney was a provincial town...

annnnyway, some come for the harbour, some for the surf...me, i stay for the (ur)banality...

now, back to the grindstone...

More of a quick snapshot. I took this right before I had to leave the observation deck on Diwang Mansion - after spending nearly all the time I had photographing the KK100, I found out that the view on the other side of the platform wasn't too bad either.

I played around forever with the raw file, changed colors, saturation, everything, until I came up with this style (I think it has to be version 6 or 7). I'm still not completely satisfied, but for the moment thats as good as it gets.

The tallest buildings in the city are currently the The Petronas Twin Towers, which rise 1,483 feet (452 m) in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre and were the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004. Other prominent structures on the skyline are the Vista Tower and the Kuala Lumpur Tower.

A shot from a few weeks back that captured whilst wandering around the City with my new ND filter. I'd overlooked this one originally in favour of the more dramatic shots that i captured on this particular walkabout…this is slightly less dramatic with a touch of mellowness.
