Inside the Diocletian's Palance which was built by Roman Emperor Diocletian in 4th Century AD.

Old Town - within the palace walls are a network of narrow cobblestone alleyways that house a mixture of residential apartments, modern shops, cafes, restaurants, ancient Roman relics and a magnificent cathedral. The palace is interesting in that it was designed to combine a luxurious palace with the defences of a military camp, having towers and fortifications on its landward sides with three monumental gates.

Originally situated on the water, the palace is now fronted by the city's popular waterfront promenade and faces onto the harbour. The buildings are made from local white limestone, quarried on the nearby island of Brac.

Symmetry is a pleasure for the eyes. And when it is mixed with catchy colors, it is nothing short of a delight!

“Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears, even if the thread of their discourse is secret, their rules are absurd, their perspectives deceitful, and everything conceals something else.”

MOC: City Station. A modern interpretation of the classic set

379, Bus Station, from 1979.

Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings.

I've known for a while that I wanted to update the classic bus station - while it's not a set that I owned when I was a kid, it's one that I thought could make for a very interesting redux. It's the biggest update so far, both in footprint and in parts, with almost 2,000.

On this one, I've stayed quite true to the original, only adding a couple of waiting sheds on a center island, and the usual amount of detail inside and out. I'm very happy with how it turned out - for some reason it really suits this building style with the flat, curved roof and the arched openings.

The stickers that are lifted from the original ('Ticket' sign and arrow, and '25 Legoland' sign for the bus) are reproduction stickers from the Dutch MiniStickers shop. All the rest are original LEGO stickers.

I'm guessing the bike might just have you intrigued? More about that here.

Exposing both sides of the film (EBS). Random mix. Really love this result =)
