Love the compression here. Market street, ferry building, bay bridge, and more, So much city in one shot.
I rarely take the 135 3.2 Hexanon out. And while she may be old, she is definitely no slouch. Very impressed with this glass.
Got the ol' 1954 rolleicord out last week. Shot in downtown Toronto. Ilford Delta 400 film. Film scanned using the Epson V500photo

Taken during the blue hour after bringing the kids to the playground just across the street... They had their fun and so did I :)
This is Yerba Buena Park in downtown San Francisco.

I thought this was a really inspiration shot to me. I was on the ferry to Manhattan. It was an amazing sight as we cruised along the cityscape of lower west side.
Another great night to get out in the City of London and take some photos. If you live in London you have to be thankful that we are having some amazing winter weather.

The Harbour City is of course Sydney. This is a high viewpoint over Darling Harbour with the newly opened “Star” in the foreground. It was shot at a focal length of 16mm. There is a wonderful window of time where the last colour of sunset is reflected in the buildings of the CBD, behind which the dark sky is turning into night.

A high-contrast black and white of Austin Texas looking across the Colorado river. There is a terrific boardwalk along the river front. Continuing on my recent trend of photography within arms reach of food and drink, there is a Joe's Crab Shack just off the boardwalk where I was able to enjoy some refreshment while waiting for the sunset. As per usual trends, sunset was a bust so I stayed for some night shots of the city. It's a very colorful shot normally but one of the most colorful buildings with some blue neon lighting was dark on this night for some reason. Thought I'd try a black-and-white cityscape treatment for a change. Photographically, this is a 2+ minute exposure using Sigma 18-35 "Art" lens. I think this pic shows how razor sharp this lens can be. Looks sharp even at 100% zoom.
This is a frame from my Urban Nightscapes Texas video (vimeo.com/sgarciarill/texasnightscapes) where I merged the night sky and the city to give a glipse of what we're missing because of light pollution inside the city.
This is downtown San Antonio, showing the Torch of Friendship, the Tower of the Americas, the convention center and some of the main hotels in downtown.
This has always been one of my favorite views of Pittsburgh since I was very young. I love driving down I-279, rounding the bend, and seeing the city rise up above me.
This view is captured from Gerst Way, a pedestrian access bridge over I-279 in the evening. The city had patched a hole in the fence surrounding the walkway, however with some help, I was able to find a way around that.
I would love to shoot here in the AM, as rush hour inbound and sunrise would make for a wonderful combination, however scheduling and weather often don't work in my favor.
Harbour Town

Well, you can see these people
at the end of every working day
down at the local bar
or maybe hanging out in some dark cafe
down on the waterfront
as the big grey boats come steaming on home
it's anybody's guess
where the night begins and the party ends
He says "come on baby, take a hold of my hand
'cause it's Saturday night in the Harbour Town
and this city lights up when the sun goes down
it's Saturday night in the Harbour Town"
Went to the city this morning about an hour before sunrise to shoot the city. Massive building works going in at Barangaroo at the moment...lights everywhere. A great morning though, a big turnout for Focus, and a great brekky afterwards. Hope you like "Harbour Town". Cheers, Mike
