Banteay Srei is a 10th century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva located near the hill of Phnom Dei, 25 km north-east of the main group of temples.

The temple was rediscovered only in 1914, and was the subject of a celebrated case of art theft when André Malraux stole four devatas in 1923 (he was soon arrested and the figures returned).

The Citadel sits on the highest hill in Amman, Jebel al-Qala’a, and is the site of ancient Rabbath-Ammon.

Looks like a sandcastle, doesn't it?

About the Râşnov Citadel

A house inside the citadel (once the smithy, nowadays a souvenir shop). Notice the steps carved in stone and the small windows -- I'm guessing they expected to take the fight inside the walls at some point.

The Citadel of Damascus is the only castle in Syria that is built on the same level of the city. It was built during the Saljukis time around 1000 A.D. This citadel has been a stronghold for the Romans, Ayyubis, and Mamluk. It was destroyed twice by during the first and second Mongol invasions.
