It is now season of peach, so we joined the all-you-can-eat peach tour on the way to Mt Fuji… . Peaches were sweet and juicy, i wish I could send the smell with the image to you too…
You can really see the dogface image on the forewing of the butterfly with the dark eye and the elongated snout.
The solid dark border also shows that this individual is a male. Females have light spots within the dark border.
The top side of the wings is seen only in flight because the butterfly always keeps its wings closed.
For 121 Pictures in 2021 #61 "Moss covered tree", this is the base of "The Big Tree", a Virginia Live Oak (or just "Live Oak") estimated to be around 1000 years old. It is located in Goose Island State Park, which is actually on the Lamar Peninsula which extends into Copano Bay on the Texas Gulf Coast near Rockport. This tree has withstood innumerable hurricanes and several wars. The climate in this area is not conducive to moss, this is about as close as you can come.

Enjoying the Weather POO cat sitting on the deck rail observing his surroundings, he loves outdoors and spends as much time there as he can. It makes him happy, he patrols the grounds of about 4 houses and the woods next to me, he does what he wants and my nearby neighbors treat him like there own, a spoiled rotten wannabe Ferrel cat!

Climate change has been and still is the subject of fierce debate for some years, many saying that there is no such thing as climate change and others professing impending doom.
Climate change is a natural phenomena, it has been since the beginning of time, however, mankind and the way we live our lives is influencing our planet and its climate significantly.
We clearly have to move away from fossil fuels, we need to find a way to deal with our waste products, plastics being dumped at sea is not an answer, the impact upon marine life is dreadful.
So my question is this, if mankind has had such a negative impact upon climate change, do we have enough innovative and progressive ideas and attitudes to be able to repair the damage we have caused?

Abbey knows where I keep cat food and treats. She will take me to the food station, sit down and wait. I just can't say no to this face ^^; Cats are very manipulative.
Some people say they can't grow dill, but it seems I can't not grow dill. I didn't plant any this spring, and yet my garden is full of dill. It's even growing up between the patio stones at the back of the house. Not that I mind, since I love the smell of the herb, because it reminds me of my mother's chicken soup, which she always cooked with lots of dill.
Last year I did sow some dill in the garden, and after the plants came up I noticed a couple of green and black and yellow caterpillars one day. Unfortunately, they were gone by the next day, before I remembered to take a picture of them. So this year, when I saw all that dill growing in the garden, I looked every day for the caterpillars. Finally last week, I saw one just as I was about to give up the search and go in the house. Of course, I ran back into the house for my camera and tripod and took lots of photos.
What's so special about these caterpillars? They turn into a gorgeous butterfly called Papilio polyxenes, otherwise known as Black Swallowtail. Dill is one of the favorite host plants for this butterfly. If you're growing dill in your garden, look to see if you've got any of these caterpillars. I'll add a shot of the butterfly in the first comment section.

Taken at the Emmet County Recycling, Composting and Waste Transfer Station in Harbor Springs, Michigan.
Ever wonder what happens to your recycling? Well, we found out and now you know. Michigan charges a deposit on all pop cans, so they don't end up in these bundles. I wish other states would initiate deposits on pop cans. Our states would be a lot cleaner.

I started processing this photo a few months ago and thought I was finished with it. Since I didn't end up using it at the time, I tucked it away in my "Finished and Ready To Go" Lightroom collection. At any given time I have about five processed photos in that folder ready to upload. This one was supposed to be ready, but I guess it really wasn't because I spent a few additional hours tinkering with it tonight. I hadn't planned to spend time working on an image tonight; in fact, the entire reason I went to that collection was to find a photo that was ready to upload.
Oh well, my to-do list didn't have anything on it that can't wait until tomorrow. I'm glad I spent the time this evening working this image. Besides coming out with a result I like much better than the first draft, it was nice to get lost in Lightroom for a few hours. Tought work week....glad it's almost over.
