Where it all started, or where you can find out how it started.

There are stories that should not be forgotten... Well, perhaps we should never forget. From memories, from the past and from our history we learn. Today I begin to record the result of my investigations. A task that has taken me a year, a long year of wandering between the shelves of the Carnelian Archive, where all the Fairlands chronicles are kept. The dust, the smell of leather, paper and history have been my faithful companions in this search, which is now over. It was something personal, yes. It has already been lost in time and in the silence of my relatives over the years, but I needed to know the truth. And the truth, like a polished diamond with countless faces, is not as simple as they imagined. There is no good or bad, but a mixture of the two whose balance maintains the Universe. Anyway, this is not the time to ramble. I think I should pick up the scattered fragments, hinted at in these flickr posts, and tell the whole story, though maybe not the whole truth, who knows....

Indeed, I don't know how to catalog this building since despite having very close, I have never made the slightest case. They are of those constructions that by habitual go completely unnoticed like as masia, it does not seem and like mansion, even less.

I have seen it in all its states. More than 30 years ago in full performance with everything on your site. Later, half collapsed with the roof sunken and completely abandoned. Then with the poster for "For Sale"

Some day, someone bought or leased it because the poster disappeared and the new owner only bleached the tower, fix the tiles and little else. I believe that only part of the building is inhabited.

I am very aware that if the walls had been painted and the garden arranged, the photo would have been much better, more beautiful. But there is what there is.

Can you feel the sky, and let your soul and spirit fly?

Taiyō ga umi to deau toki… umi no nioi o kagi, sora o kanji, tamashī to seishin o tobashite kuremasen ka?

You can live years next door to a big pine tree, honored to have so venerable a neighbor, even when it sheds needles all over your flowers or wakes you, dropping big cones onto your deck at still of night.

Verse 1

Lanterns lighting up the town,

Peace on earth is all around,

Everything is calm on Christmas Eve.

There's goodwill in the air tonight,

Angels sing by candle light,

Their voices carried on the wind.

When carol singers gather round,

When I hear that festive sound,

I wanna join with them and sing!

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,

A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.

See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,

'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.

Verse 2

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,

Give me mistletoe; it's the season to be jolly,

Wrapping presents, writing cards, helping decorate the tree,

But there's one thing that makes it all for me.

When carol singers gather round,

Angel voices fill the town,

It's like the world is joining in!

(Noel, Noel, Noel)

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,

A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.

See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,

'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.

Middle 8

Christmas Eve,

Still believe,

So excited,

Can't sleep,

When the morning comes,

Church bells ring,

And he's been!

Chorus

They sing a merry song and we all sing along,

A festive melody that tells us Christmas time is here.

See the stars tonight; they're shining bright,

'Cause it's Christmas time and it's my favourite time of year.

And it's my favourite time of year

(Noel, Noel)

On these cold December days I long for the heat of the summer, and all the flowers and wildlife it brings.

I can hear you but I won't

Some look for trouble while others don't

There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day

And ignore your whispers, which I wish would go away, oh-oh-oh

You're not a voice

You're just a ringing in my ear

And if I heard you, which I don't

I'm spoken for, I fear

Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls

I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls

I've had my adventure, I don't need something new

I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you

Into the unknown

Into the unknown

What do you want? 'Cause you've been keeping me awake

Are you here to distract me so I make a big mistake?

Or are you someone out there who's a little bit like me?

Who knows deep down I'm not where I'm meant to be?

Every day's a little harder as I feel my power grow

Don't you know there's part of me that longs to go

Into the unknown

Into the unknown

Where are you going?

Don't leave me alone

How do I follow you

Into the unknown?

but you can't hide.

Hop-A-Long was sitting on the edge of a flower pot near this lavender bush as some little birds were skittering around using it for cover. He jumped down on the bush and tried to get a little bird, but many of you will be glad to hear, he didn't get it this time

Can not think of this butterfly's name; it's common but first time I've photographed one. Thanks to Nancy who ID'd it as a Cloudless Sulphur.

Would not oblige me by sitting still for very long.

Doing well over here in Minnesota...how about you?

Thanks for your vist, flickr friends...Pat..xo

You are stronger than you think.

Rule #1 of cub club: climb higher than your sibling. And if you are picking a person to go take pictures with in bear country, make sure you can outrun them. LOL

I saw something on Facebook last night that lingers on my mind today. It was about a rodeo couple I photographed many times over the years. I always admired their marriage because they seemed so happy together and the camera never lies. I didn't really 'know' them except though the lens and few chats over pictures. He was a true cowboy to the core and she was pretty talented horse woman with a rope and a winning smile. It was so evident how much they loved their many grandkids. Their ending was a sad one. She courageously battled an illness and passed at 64 in June. He died last week at 74 of a broken heart from missing the love of his life too much. How lucky were they to find a love like that. Most people don't find that their whole lives.

Anyway, I'm off to the rodeo. Happy Saturday everyone!

The sand dunes are so huge at Sossusvlei that spotting people climbing them can be a challenge.

Sometimes accepting that you cannot control everything is the most sensible thing to do. Just accept what is happening and do what is necessary.

This young mute swan is believed to have been born in 2022. In December last year it was already quite large, but the beak was not yet completely orange. Apparently he was hungry because his head was constantly under water and every now and then he came back up with water plants in his beak. He seemed very relaxed.

An eastbound Amtrak Capitol rolls along San Pablo Bay at Pinole, California, on March 12, 1995. The train is led by GE P32BWH “Pepsi Can” No. 501, that was later sold and became California Department of Transportation (CDTX) No. 2051.

You might remember the little Barn Owl I posted at the end of February. Here he is again, same day, same tree cavity, just getting a little bored. Feel free to view large - has some pretty nice detail even at ISO 3200, full 62 mp frame, uncropped.

Can a bird roll its eyes? This Eurasian Tree Sparrow looks like it is getting tired of this routine. Maybe it's the dad, the sexes look alike in this species. Glendale, Missouri
