We have no idea. It's lost to history. All that can be remembered about the history of this button is that it was given out to employees of Ideal Mutual, an insurance company. To inspire the workers, a guy in a black cape would stalk the offices, for he was the Ideal BAD guy. BAD was an acronym, but for what? We don't remember.
I love buttons! I bought these at a big Craft Exhibition. In theory, I bought them as embellishments to use in my cardmaking, but the real reason is just because I like them!

we had these at renegade -- especially the trees and keys. some are silkscreened (the patterned ones at bottom left are from some fabric i made in my silkscreen class; some of the "oui" pins are scraps from a screenprinted qylaar clutch) and most were made with the print gocco machine.
