Tuesdays: Free Theme/"Crazy Tuesday theme" Buttons #7DWF

Buttons are overflowing their container. Many were spares or bought and never used but most have been used and then removed from the articles to be used again: which doesn't seem to happen very often.

These buttons were found in a abandoned button factory in a little town in France where I live.

Mom & I have been making these Mask Mates Ear Savers (pattern by Sarah Berens) - these are two she made. It's been interesting going through the button stash and finding pairs that match the yarn and are the right size.

Worsted weight yarn; both buttons are plastic. The larger button is approx. ⅞" wide.

I was looking for a fun button around our house and still ended up with the this simple and clean photo.

A selection of blue buttons. A slight tweak on the contrast to give the effect. HMM

From my collection. I keep collecting them, but can't remember the last time I used one!

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

Buttons and Bows

Had a little break from sewing thanks to the flu! I'm feeling a lot better, but starting with some nice simple sewing projects... choosing vintage buttons to match lots of felt flowers from my work-in-progress box :)

My kids and I have been sick for a few days so I wasn’t able to finish the No Flowers Challenge on Friday. So, here is my picture for the challenge - day 5 of 5.

I would like to thank Dawn for the lovely testimonial she wrote. I love the opportunity flickr has given me to interact with and be inspired by people miles and miles away. The miles may be many friend but I feel your sweetness close…in my heart. Thank you.

#Macro Mondays. # Buttons and Bows. This is the age of the train - Railway uniform buttons from the LNWR (pre 1923) LMS (pre nationalisation) and BR (probably 1970s).

Who's got the button?

This is the ever-lovely Snowflake Sonata, for the theme "Button" in the Blythe a Day group. I love this button-y dress I made when I first got into this fun hobby. This theme was easy for me because I have a huge button collection!

Fabric buttons of little old tablecloth with coffe spots from the fleamarket

Mixed = 23mm & 19mm

These were buttons once used by my Grandmother in her sewing days.

I've had this idea for a little while now and thought it would be perfect the HMM button theme. Overall I like the effect, but I ran short on time balancing out the flash versus ambient light - I think this will be something that I will revisit again.

I once had a sign that said, "He who dies with the most toys, wins." I think it should be changed to "who has the most buttons." Look around your room, house, or whatever. Devices that have buttons are everywhere.
