A bow in B&W. This bow happened to be on a present sitting under the Christmas Tree. The texture seemed interesting enough to warrant a colorless Christmas shot. HMM!
Macro Monday Theme: Buttons and Bows
Wonderful set of three vintage peach colored buttons from the 1940s in a flower style with a dome center. The buttons are 1" across and have a metal shank back. These buttons were unused and on part of their original backing when I purchased them, but it fell apart. However, the buttons themselves are in fabulous condition.
Craspedia is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family commonly known as billy buttons and woollyheads. They are native to Australia and New Zealand where they grow in a variety of habitats from sea level to the Alps.
These buttons were in a button bag a customer gave with loads of vintage buttons. The days when you cut all the buttons off garments before recycling them onto a rag rug or throw away
One more button in the tin to paint! I saved a super-complicated crocheted button to paint last.
The big black button near the top left took many layers of glazing various tints and tones of colour over a base layer where I used salt to achieve the mottled effect.
