Buttons used as the "texture" of a pedestrian walkway partition. Kitchener, Ontario, Canada 07.09.2015

We always had a button jar in the house when I was a child. It was a great source of entertainment. Still is!!

received from Het Kleine Woud with great thanks!!!

Possibly the most outrageously priced buttons ever! But worth it to make my bargain coat look unique!

It's late, and despite going for a walk for inspiration today, and a half planned shot, the sun went in ... and the ribbon of cloud persisted along where the sun was for the rest of the afternoon ...bad timing really, but it's left me walking around the house looking for a pic.

Desparation made me look at all sorts of things, and these are the buttons on a cushion ... with the fabric worn off ... that glinted a lamp light at me ... salvation; of sorts :-)

Starting today on my blog: five weeks, one lesson per week, a big bowl of buttons you made yourself. No experience with polymer clay necessary. Check it out!

P.S. It's free :-)

BUTTON(S) is the topic for Monday 23 March 2020

A visit to Hobby Craft today

My fabric pressed onto buttons.

Inspired by Trevira, I decided to scan my collection of buttons. These are all my presidential buttons... so it looks like I've missed a couple years in there. I was there, I guess I didn't like the buttons.

I also just saw the documentary about George McGovern, "One Bright Shining Moment" and it made me think about times when there were real heroes and brave people who believed in doing the right thing.

My current fave is "Fermez La Bush" but someone recently asked me if it was for or against Bush, so I'm a bit concerned. (It's against)

I enjoy making this pattern. This one has no buttons up the back. The fabric is Alexander Henry Voile. I wish I had bought the whole bolt.

Picture taken at Butterfly World. That is one hot and humid place. They have hand dryers to warm up your camera lens so it doesn't get condensation on it.

The buttons attach to the Vibes sunshade's loops. (originally for use with the bassinets shield)

I found Holly Sleighbells today in Target and decided to do a group shot.

I have from left to right:

Marina Anchors, Mittens Fluff 'N' Stuff, Holly Sleighbells, Candy Broomsticks, Dot Starlight and Bea Spells-a-Lot.

Fun fact: My Bea has two right feet, and as such reminds me of The Raggy Dolls.

Buttons dating from 1995 to 2016.

I made some buttons! Yay!

My husband was dressed in a suit for a classroom observation.

Buttons as in lift (or elevator as this was taken in Chicago) buttons on this stunning Art Deco style example. Although submitted in 2015 the picture was taken in September 2014.

My Flickr records show I have now submitted 52 pictures although my written records show only 50 pictures for the 52 in 2014 challenge. Think I'll go with the Flickr records and move onto the 52 in 2015 challenge.

Many thanks to all who have taken the time to view and, most of all, comment on my pictures. I have really enjoyed the challenge and thanks must go to those who set it up in the first place. It has been a challenge but it is good as a photographer to be challenged.

Here's to 2015.

a button related mishap.

E começa mais uma coleção... :P

These are vintage buttons that I got from an op shop (thrift shop) here in Canberra yesterday.

They are very old and are a type of Dorset button--they are worked on a ring the same as a Dorset button with buttonwhole stitch around the metal ring but then the design changes. The patterns on them are beautiful

Fuck Buttons and Growing perform at DC9 in Washington D.C. on 11/4/09. Shot for PopMatters.

Out traveling but the buttons on hubby's shirt fell in such a nice line that they had to pose for this week's shot.
