I recently stocked up on buttons, with my designs on them, from cafepress. I plan on using these for art trades and hanging in public places. I'll probably put my cafepress shops url on the back of each... maybe I'll get my cafepress premium acct. to pay for itself.
I got all these fabulous pressed glass Czech buttons from my darling daughter for my birthday to use in future projects. They are iridescent and hard to photograph but they are divine!
My Grandma brought out this jar which had 60+ years of buttons she'd kept from all her years of sewing. It was a great way to talk about some fun old stories I'd never heard before.

I'd love to hear your feed back on this and other photo's, what you like and maybe something to make the shot better or anything else you want to say. I'll try and return the favor too. Thanks.
I have pounds upon pounds of vintage buttons. Zack wanted to pour some out and sort -- he truly IS my child!
Wish this photo were more in focus but I must have moved.
As a preteen, I had two buttons featuring Michael Jackson's photo, but I deemed them too precious to wear.
Anya sent me a heaping plateful's worth of assorted buttons! I don't know what possessed me to put them on a plate. Now there's errant buttons on the floor and I'll have to pick them up before the dog eats them. The loaf of bread is for scale. I can't wait to sort them!
Not to be outdone by Paula's recent amazing finds, look what I found at a local car boot last weekend! Some of them look like Viking/Saxon shields I think! I was so excited I nearly ran after I paid for them in case the seller changed his mind and wanted them back! Hopefully to be transformed into Wychbury necklaces sometime soon.

It was difficult to part with these, even if they don't have sentimental value. I just love the details. I have a big box of "vintage" buttons, but mostly they're just old, plain, boring buttons. A handful or so have nice detail, and I picked out this selection from that group.

From my Jumbled Jewels collection, this necklace features two silk rosettes hand sewn from recycled black silk that are finished off with military-like vintage silver buttons and silk bows.
This fabulous necklace is a delightful mix of recycled pewter chains, a pearl necklace and a crystal necklace.
The metal neck chain is intertwined with repurposed black silk to complete this dramatic piece.
You can dress it up or dress it down....Jumbled Jewels are for anytime!
