Inspired by Adorn magazine's Button article in the Summer '07 issue, I made these button brooches/pendants. I was totally hoarding buttons so it's great to have used a bunch. I had to make mine symmetrical, not random. They've got multiple loops on the back so I can affix/hang them in different ways. I used both wire and colored (matching) hot glue. And the backs are covered in felt.

the final step in a finished CPH. and who did i buy my perfect little stack of buttons from but one Zeitgeist Kate. nice to finally, finally meet you, Kate!

I made a few extra buttons in my regular 1.25" size, to match with Malabrigo Chunky wool in the "mariposa" colorway.

From my warped mind - a black hole eats up a universe of buttons. Of course. Eat your heart out Stephen Hawking.

Need I say more?...

Buttons Bluff, near Springwood, VA

Here is a set of six greenish-white buttons that I made out of a white stoneware clay body. In the final firing, they were fired to about cone 6. I used white glaze and copper oxide to create the greenish-white hues on these buttons. Each button is approximately 1.25 inches in circumference.

I keep buttons in an old Calumet Baking Powder can that has seen better days. I gave this an old-time look using Kim's 'evolve' texture first with "soft light' blending mode and then again with 'multiply' blending mode.

Annoyingly this camera doesn't always cock the shutter when you wind on so sometimes you can't expose a frame and have to wind past it to take the next photo.

Earrings that I've made this weekend. I really like these ones. Its from a random collection of buttons that I've strung on silver elastic.

They're most likely Schindler Haughton, but could have been put in by haughton in the 70's. This elevator is from 1940. (Thanks to jimster586 for some useful info about these)

Today I developed a new addiction by learning how to cover buttons with (vintage) fabric.

More about this at my little blog.

These are the buttons inside the elevator in my library. I don't know if it's my marketing background or what, but things that are poorly-designed really bother me. See notes above for all my petty gripes.

i made these friday night out of some of my lil illustrations (as well as some clipart). they turned out pretty sweet.
