Adelpha is a genus of brush-footed butterflies found in southern USA and Mexico to South America. They are commonly known as sisters, due to the white markings on their wings, which resemble a nun's habit. This genus is sometimes included with the admiral butterflies (Limenitis).
Thanks for the help with the ID of this butterfly. It was hanging out with the Common Buckeyes and Painted Ladies and is about the same size. I'm in Johnson Co., Kansas, U.S.A.
Everyone is like a butterfly, they start out ugly and awkward and then morph into beautiful graceful butterflies that everyone loves.

I do not have an identification on this lovely butterfly--just love the blues, purples and white against the brown. If anyone knows, please feel free to let me know.
