Wow.! What an amazing capture of this wonderful swallowtail butterfly, taken in the village of Jelsa on the island of Hvar, Croatia. This is one of my favorite image taken of this magnificent creature, maybe it is one of your favorites also.

Spotted this Comma butterfly resting on a nettle leaf. They're not uncommon but I've not seen many about!

Regular visitors to this stream will know that butterfly photographs are as rare as hen’s teeth. Just occasionally I manage a half decent one. This is I believe a female Comma a butterfly that you can find mostly in woodland. This one had probably just woken up from its winter hibernation and was having its first decent meal on a Mahonia
