Auburn University student Catherine Odom of Butler County received a $1,750 scholarship from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and Butler County Farmers Federation. She was recognized at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Scholarship Reception at the Ham Wilson Livestock Arena in Auburn Sept. 23. Odom is a junior studying poultry science, production track and is from McKenzie. From left are Federation President Jimmy Parnell, Odom, Federation District 9 Director Bill Cook and Federation Southwest Area Vice President Jake Harper.
This morning, at the alarmingly early hour of 6:30am, I and a group of other volunteers helped to set up the electric snowflake decorations on Main Street, Butler, PA.
We volunteers unloaded the decorations from the special rigs they're stored and transported on. In this photo, we're riding along on the truck with some extra decorations, back to Butler County Ford where they're stored.
Lake Butler, Florida
Constructed as the first courthouse in 1922 of corrugated iron and wood. It stood on the current courthouse site until that courthouse was constructed in 1936. It was removed to it's current location at 285 NE 1st Avenue (near the lake) and became the Lake Butler Woman's Club. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Butler Fork Trail begins on the north side of Big Cottonwood Canyon Road and follows a path along a creek for about ½ mile. There is a junction in the trail; Butler Fork Trail continues on the right fork to junction with the Desolation Trail, and Mill A Basin Trail follows on the left fork.

The Butler County Women’s Leadership Committee was recognized with the Outstanding Committee from Region 3 Award from the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Women’s Leadership Division Dec. 9.
The award was presented during the organization’s 98th annual meeting in Montgomery. Notable activities included publicizing the county cooking contest by making and sharing save-the-date postcards and invites; hosting a meeting on distracted driving and how to encourage others to keep their eyes on the road; collecting pop tabs; hosting a farmers market vendor breakfast; donating to Wreaths Across America; recognizing local law enforcement and first responders with agricultural baskets; and co-hosting Farm-City events.
