After the trams in Bombay were discontinued by BEST, the cables were still intact. It was the time when BEST introduced these imported Skoda buses.. These ran on electricity cables of trams with the help of twp parallel collector rods mounted on roof. In case of power failure provisions to run the bus on Petrol (not Diesel) were made. Later on BEST started facing problems with the overhead wires and other issues. These beauties as a result were taken out from service.. Anyone having further info & dates please comment.. Thanks..
