Exeter, Paris Street. South Western was an operation set up by the Cawlett Group, owners of North Devon Red Bus and Southern National; their depot was in the coach park of Paris Street bus station, where the originally red buses slowly faded to pink in the sun. This East Lancs bodied Atlantean began life with Blackpool.
This Bristol/ECW VR, seen I think in Fareham, was new as United Auto 701, later with Northumbria (518), and looks very well in the People's Provincial two-tone green livery.
I've seen several school buses that have been repainted, but this tops my list. It was at a canoe and kayak rental place near Manchester VT where we rented kayaks.

A pair of Grahams Bus Service Guy Arabs loading passengers for Linwood outside Paisley Town Hall. Both buses appear to have Northern Counties bodywork of a nineteen fifties style. XS5626 would have entered service in 1945 fitted with an austerity body similar to that fitted to DUS425.

So, I haven't posted in a long time and the reason for that has been that I haven't been shooting very much over the last few weeks, I have just been too busy with my research, but I had a little inspiration last night. The sun looked like fire in the sky so I took a detour on my way to dinner and found the remnants of my favorite bus graveyard after it burned to the ground last week on the flame of a crackhead's torch. I got too cocky though, and shot 5 exp without a tripod and the light was just a little too low to handle the +4. I still think they turned out pretty great, especially for a 10 min shoot (had to get to dinner), but next time i'll take the extra time and grab the t-pod...
I'm also now on imagekind!
