~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the weather these past few weeks has been changeable
13/365
We had snow today! A full two hours, and it was coming down quite heavy at points. But the ground was wet and the temperature was warm, and even though it settled on the grass and on the roofs, it had melted within a couple of hours. But that was enough to get me really excited. I love snow, and we have had none for the past 3 years, and I have been waiting and waiting, and when they predicted snow the other day I got very, very excited. Although we did not have the three inches of settled snow that was predicted, we are predicted more on Sunday. It was exciting. And so today's picture is of my hat and one of my sweaters. All my lovely warm, woollen clothing.
Just love to see these little "red dogs" in action; they can really move; a real bundle of energy compared to their adult counterparts.
Have a great Wednesday.....busy, busy; promise I will catch up with everyone soon :-) Thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!
Val D'Orcia, June 2015
My favorite mannequins are bundled up against the cold. Temperatures dropped during the night and with the wind there was a real nip in the air. My favorite time of the year, winter has arrived, at least for the next day or two.
Barred Owl owlet! Circle B Bar Reserve Lakeland Florida
Another photo from my archives, taken on 3 June 2012, of the beautiful Northern Hawk Owlet that gave so many people tremendous pleasure. This little family was NW of Calgary, about an hour and a half's drive each way. 28 May 2012 was this owlet's very first time out of the nest, so this photo was taken on its sixth day of freedom. It was such an adorable little thing.
Did you all know that you can now hover your mouse over the date the image was taken and you will see the date it was posted? This was one of yesterday's changes - a good change. A few hours later, another change occurred - you can no longer click on the three dots to edit tags, only the date and time. You can still do it using the organizer, but that is more complicated. This change I definitely don't like. Have fun, everyone! I wonder what changes today will bring!
Guess I've just found out what the next "mess" is! I've just opened a second browser window for Flickr and found that there is nothing on this black panel - no description, tags, sets, groups, no three dots. Late last night, a friend (in England) told me that this was happening to her, and now it has reached us here. Hopefully, this is just a temporary glitch - thankfully, it does seem to be ... so far..
It's 11C this afternoon and thundershowers are in the forecast, turning to snow flurries tonight and tomorrow. So why did we foolishly think that maybe spring had finally arrived, lol?
With a snowstorm blowing outside on the first day of March, this photo seemed appropriate for the occasion.
My daughter, Anna Melissa.
WARNING: If you FAVE my daughter's photo and you do not have photos on your stream, or something seems weird to me... or you have or collect questionable or inappropriate photos I will block you immediately.
It's 70ยบ outside right now, and this little Arizona boy is outside wrapped up like it's 20 below. We get acclimated to those triple digit temps six months out of the year, so it feels chilly out right now.
Pretty much my default look from November til April- a coat, scarf, knit hat, and a GIGANTIC cup of pipin' hot coffee. I am not a fan of the Winter. Apparently, neither is Blaine.
'Generation Girl' Blaine. Coat from 7toys7. Scarf is Pullip Zuora stock. Hat is unlabeled vintage. Sunglasses by Barbie Basics.
Dried and bundled... my very own harvest of Horsetail, which i have growing in the fountain (here with other collected exotic seed-heads).
Horsetail - Equisetum is from the Latin equus , "horse", and seta , "bristle".
Horsetail is one of the greatest herbs for bone and connective tissue weaknesses.
It is very high in silica, which is converted into calcium by the liver.
This herb has great healing powers to all tissues of the body.
It is an extremely good herb for the urinary tract (kidneys and bladder).
Has some minor antiparasitic properties.
One of the greatest helps for increasing platelet production by the spleen.
