I spent at least twenty minutes or so watching a Canada goose family (mom, dad, and four goslings), while I stood in the rain and wet grass and got soaked. Once they finished their breakfast of grass mom and dad got busy preening themselves while the youngsters huddled tight against each other and settled down for a nap. This little bundle of fluff consists of the four goslings. It was raining fairly hard when I took this shot, but getting soaked to get these shots was well worth it. Wildwood Park, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
We watched this mother come back and forth a few times moving her kits from one nest to another, first time i have ever witnessed something like this!
After years of service, these bundles of steel tubes have been extracted from their outer shells and then replaced by new ones.
