This little bunch of feathers was born a couple day prior to when I took this photo ( 16th July ) and was mostly staying very close to the mother which already had some almost grown up that must have hatched around late March ?

A female Spotted Towhee seeking out some warmth from the sun on an otherwise chilly -6 Celcius morning on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada.

We don't get a lot and or long lasting below 0 degrees Celsius days here on the island. The frosted branches inspired me to venture outdoors to see what the birds were up to. The birds seemed to be hanging out in the sunny areas and I could understand why. Despite being all bundled up, I have to admit, I didn't stay outside for very long. I suppose I have become too accustomed to the cozy warmth of our home! It was nice however to enjoy some good old fresh air and sunshine. Most days as of lately have been dark, overcast and rainy. Makes one appreciate the sunny days even more! 😁

Playing With Light....

Christmas Eve Karen and I bundled up and made our way out into the falling snow, our plan was to capture some light painting shots of the snow fall and to try to be creative in the midst of a lockdown. this shot of Karen illuminating snowflakes falling in the park was a lot of fun to play with. I will post more shots of our adventure in the following days. keep posted. ..
