Taunting a bundle of matches by creating sparks with a ferro rod. The frame spans 1½–inches across.
Strobist info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR, two-feet away from and one-foot above the subject. They were fired in Manual mode @ ½ power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes. A one-second exposure was used to capture the sparks from the ferro rod.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's.
Lens: Tokina AT - X M100 AF PRO D (AF 100mm f / 2.8 Macro).
These are thick, layered bundles of paper. each layer is a picture, drawing, collage or interesting peice of paper, but they are layered up ridiculously thick so there are hundreds of unviewable peices all on top of each other, like a book you cannot open. Secret layers that make up a whole, just like a person. notes, peices of wire, moths, leather bindings from books, scraps of lace I found in a skip, paper from my childhood or ruined books or sealing wax and wooden blocks. 42 were made in total, and most were datestamped. all are exactly 2 inches by 3 inches, some are very thick, some not so.

My wife bundled up at the Port Union Winterfest yesterday. Although it wasn't that cold, you did have to bundle up from the wind. A rare portrait shot to add to my photostream.
A bit of rough and tumble before heading out for the kill...I still can't quite believe my luck at sharing time with these incredible Painted Dogs in the Okavango Delta ❤️

When I saw the morning sunlight gleaming,
I thought about all the darkness that it veiled,
Behind its bold beams it had bowed down.
While I looked at the rays they were sifting,
I realized that in the evening the sun must set,
Bundle will open & then will again be night.

One of a family of young ducks that are growing feathers and gaining in independence, but still fluffy...
Which is more than I was earlier today.
Jerry got me this sweater for Christmas as well as the Nikon D80 I am shooting this picture with.
Tai Shan had a ball in the rain. He was rolling and pulling out grass along the way. He was too cute for words!!
Our hearts have grown...can not imagine our family without this little one. 4 weeks old already...I am soaking it all in :)
My sweet daughter gave the dinosaurs their own early Christmas presents. Lavender and Lily got homemade vests, hats and bracelets. We had to go out and take a picture while going around looking at the holiday lights. Two more sleeps...
It snowed all day yesterday here in northeastern Colorado, and although this morning the temperatures were below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, I found this intrepid couple out for a walk.
You can't try to be "cool" out here: a zipper and a hood are mandatory to survive.

It's the newspapers again!
The stapled edges and the open page edges alternating in this bundle of papers tied ready for recycling.
And sometimes, just sometimes, I do take photographs of something else!

Riley, bundled in a cozy jacket gently led her majestic stallion, Celestial Harmony, out of the stable, the crisp winter air swirling around them. The ground crunched beneath their feet as they traversed the glistening white landscape, where frosty branches sparkled under the pale winter sun. Celestial Harmony's breath misted in the cool air, and with each step, the serene beauty of nature enveloped them, creating a moment of tranquility amid the wintry chill.

CP train 486 was shrugging off a winter chill at Rondout behind a trio of SD40-2s.
At the time, a scene like this was a daily occurance, but wasn't taken for granted as the writing was on the wall.
Today, it's all devolved to a General Electric show around here.
I saw this whole huddle (?) of adorable Canada Goose goslings yesterday, when I went with Ron (Flickrite Ronaldok) down to the Coaldale Bird of Prey Centre near Lethbridge in southern Alberta. They were hanging out with Mom and Dad near one of the ponds at the Centre. We'd been watching several goslings and then suddenly Mom stood up and revealed this tightly packed bundle of downy feathers : )
