The Classical Revival style Paramount Theatre was designed by John Eberson and built in 1915. The structure was renovated in the late 1970s-1980 to hosts the performing arts. The structure is on the National Register of Historic Places.
I always wondered where this crown sign came from.
Now I know it is from a Best Western Sign - now standing by a fireworks stand in Canutillo, NM
The Tivoli Theatre open its doors in 1921, hosting moivies and live shows. The theatre was known as the "Jewel of the South" when it was owned by Publix Theater, a division of Paramount Studios. The Tivoli closed its doors in 1961. A "partial" renovated theater reopened in 1963. After a more extensive renovation, completed in 1989, the theater reopened hosing the performing arts. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Grand Theater was built in 1911 as vaudeville house. A 1940 renovation included adding a Moderne style facade. The Grand closed in 1966 and later was used for office space and auctions. In 2005, a local group started renovation efforts. The Grand host the performing arts and art-films (independent, foreign film etc.)
These cool 60s-era signs hadn't lit up since the late 70s. Owners didn't maintain them well. Missed this one when I posted the entire sign months ago!
The sign with the clock represent the Sooner Theater. The Soooner opened its doors in 1929. The movie theater closed in 1974. The theatre was restored to host live theater performances. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Seen on Kankakee Street in Wilmington, IL. This was oddly pointing across the street, not to a building on the same side of the street. The building across the street is currently an antique mall. This was the first time I ever noticed this sign, and I've been here quite a number of times. The other side of the sign was just an empty frame.

Cool how they salvaged the huge PARK'S sign and displayed it inside the window of the former drugstore. I wonder if they have different plans for it in the future. If they put it back on the building and lit it up I'd have kittens.
