Opened (I think) somewhere around 1960 as Lettie's Restaurant. Later became the Route 66 Restaurant. Closed in 2019.
We moved over Christmas, and this is just a short walk away from the new house. I'm sure I'll end up shooting it a lot!

I say this would have to be the find of the trip for newfound signage. It's in wonderful condition and almost looks to have rehabbed. The motel itself, not so much.

Family-owned since 1936.
I took photos of this pre-pandemic and I have no idea where they went. So after dinner with my friend a couple of weeks ago I took the long route to the el so I could take some more.
And for those that wonder… I do not have a car and I am fast approaching my eighth decade 😳 so I tend not to wander the streets after dark unless they are very well-known to me and I have company.

Opened in 1951. Didn't realize (until I read the theater's "About" page) that behind the facade it's a Quonset hut.

Not the best view of the sign, but it's a good sign
656 N Dupont Hwy.
Burned in 2014. Demolished in 2015. The sign's remained at the empty lot since then.
Edit 2021-12: There's a car wash there now, and the sign has been altered beyond recognition.
136 W Chestnut St.
Opened in 1932. A Mountain View diner was installed in 1957. Some of the Mountain View is still there, obscured by a couple renovations. Closed briefly (for yet another remodel) in 2007. Closed again in 2011.

"The Roarin' 20's was originally located at Eddie McBride's nightclub in Albuquerque. The sign is believed to be from the 1950s. When the business closed sometime after 1971, Eddie moved the sign to his father's place, the Sunshine Cafe, Bar, and Dance Hall. The 'Eddie's' on the sign was covered up with a plastic panel. In 2014, the building was torn down but the sign remains."

1956 diner car and sign moved to this location about fifteen years ago from the Midwest, restored and turned into a popular local eatery. Princetown, New York.
I made a dealer trade run to central Ohio and when I passed thru Russells Point on the way back, I finally had a fairly clear day after many cloudy ones.
