The building with the Cain's sign was constructed in 1924. Cain's was known as "The Home of Bob Wills" who was called "The King of Western Swing." Between 1935 and 1942, under Wills' influence, Cain's was significant in popularizing western swing, a form of country and western music that combined jazz, blues, big band, swing and vernacular music styles. Wills was inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The building that house Cain's Ballroom Dancing is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
