The bulb sign on the side of the Skol Liquors Building at East 25th Street & 27th Avenue South in Minneapolis is in a neat font.

These cool 60s-era signs hadn't lit up since the late 70s. Owners didn't maintain them well. Apologies if I've posted a closeup of this already.

Rustic looking western apparel store. Full of taxidermy, including a horse and a buffalo in the window along Milwaukee.
In this 1987 photograph, the Capitol Theater that opened in 1927 was showing movies. Since the photograph, the theater was remodeled (in 1994) to host a community theatre.
Worth, IL. Just west of the JC Palos Motel; both on Southwest Highway, both serve the same function! I've never seen "inet" as an abbreviation for the internet before.

One more slightly-abstract view of this classic before I reveal entire sign. Like other neon, this one is a flickr celebrity (I think).
I love the facade of this old theatre in Exeter. The Bulb sign looks fairly original, and it definitely reminds you of the glamorous theaters of the days gone by. Most small towns had a small theater at some point or another, but sadly, many of them no longer stand to this day.
Close-up of the neon & bulbs on the refurbished sign for the Broadway Liquor Outlet on West Broadway in North Minneapolis. The building was severely damaged by a tornado on May 22, 2011, and demolished in April-May 2012.
I've been meaning to photograph this sign for years, and finally got around to it a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know that just days later it was going to be taken down and sent out for restoration. Glad I took this Before picture and I look forward to taking the After one!

Porkys is a drive-in hamburger place that dates from the 1950s. Porkys was closed during the 1970s, but reopened in 1990. The restaurant on University Ave is along the old routes of US 12 and US 52. In 2011, Porky's close for the last time--at this site. Most of the building was carted off to a a historic museum site
In this 1987 photograph the Paramount had closed and was for sale. Sometimes during the 1990s the building was razed.
The refurbished sign for Hum's Liquors stands tall at the northwest corner of Lyndale Avenue South and West 22nd Street in south Minneapolis.
